BROCKPORT

•Pancoast, Frances C., Formerly of Churchville, died peacefully after a long illness on December 22, 2008, at age 87. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Leo. She is survived by her four children, Cynthia (Brian) Adams, Allen (Sandra) Pancoast, David (Laurie) Pancoast, Barbara (Rich) McGarrigle; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; sister Doris (Don) Dresser; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pancoast Palmer; nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held January 10 at Bergen United Methodist Church. Private interment. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Association or to a charity of one's choice in her memory.


•Santana, Etanislao "Tony," Age 89, on January 4, 2009. Survived by beloved wife of 21 years Kathleen (Schott) Santana of Brockport; father of Anthony (Cathy) Santana, Jose (Brenda) Santana; daughters: Maricela (John) Antinora, Sylvia Santana; step-children, Christine (John) Edwards, William (Teresa) Brenner; one brother; three sisters, in-laws; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two sisters. Mr. Santana was a WWII Army Veteran.

A Memorial Service was held January 9 at the Christian Center, Brockport. Memorials can be made to King Street Christian Center in Brockport.


CHILI

•Widener, Jay C., January 2, 2009. Predeceased by his wife Lenore and sons, Jay Jr. and Pfc. James Widener. Survived by his wife, Josephine; children Julie Widener, Mark, Peter (Barb); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Webster of Lakeland, Florida; and a special stepfather to Josephine's six children and her grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Jay is a WWII veteran of the 8th Army Air Corps and inductee of the Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame.

A Funeral Service was held January 5 at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home. Interment Grove Place Cemetery.


CHURCHVILLE

•Batz, June M. (Adams), December 30, 2008 at age 76. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Clarence F. Batz; her children Steve Batz (Wendy Freeman) Darlene (Randy) Fisher and Larry (Marialena) Batz; her grandchildren Rachel (fiancé Alex) Fisher, Adam Fisher, Erica and Gabrielle Batz; her sister Betty Buzard; broth-ers Robert Adams, Bill (Betty) Adams and Ed (Ginny) Adams; several nieces and nephews. She was a retiree of Bausch & Lomb Co.

A Funeral Mass was said January 3 at St. Vincent dePaul Church, Churchville. Interment St. Vincent dePaul Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626 in her memory.


•Dambrowski, Dorothy R. (Wendt), December 29, 2008, at age 80. Survived by her loving husband of 60 years Robert L. Dambrowski; loving daughter Sandra Lee (Mick) McCauley; granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah; brother-in-law Donald (Corrine); sister-in-law Doris Parsons; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, 10 Munson Street, LeRoy, NY 14482 or to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.


CLARKSON

•Koss, Steven M. Sr., On December 31, 2008, at the age of 54. Predeceased by his father Kenneth. He is survived by his children Steve (Angie) and Stephanie; grandchildren Christopher, Anthony and Cassidy; mother Mabel; brothers Larry, Kevin (Sheila); sisters Sharon (Ray) Sailer, Kristi Koss, Krista (Tyson) Parker; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

A Funeral Service was held January 5 at the Concordia Lutheran Church, Brockport. Interment will be held at Garland Cemetery in the spring. Contributions can be made to Concordia Lutheran Church or a charity of one's choice in his memory.


GREECE

•VanderTang, Hazel E. (McClellan), January 1, 2009 at age 91. She was predeceased by her husband William N. VanderTang. She is survived by her sisters Ruth McClellan of Spencerport and Grace (Thomas) Moran of North Carolina; her brother-in-law Adrian (Nellie) VanderTang; her sister-in-law Wihelmina Bohrer; her special friend Sheila DeJager; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held January 3 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Interment Fairfield Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450 in her memory.


HILTON

•Calkins, Hazel G., 85, on January 3, 2009. She is survived by Lester, her husband of 67 years; their children Roger (Sandra), Gary (Patricia), Leslie (Wendy); grandchildren, James, Ross, Timothy, Christopher Calkins, Caryn King, Emily Aguilar, Zachary Allyn and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held January 8 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Private interment, White Haven Memorial Park. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester 14620 in her memory.


•Topham, Richard "Dick," January 3, 2009, at the age of 73. Survived by his sons, Steve "Omar" Topham of Rochester and Scott Topham of Hilton; three daughters, Cathy (Bill) Hejl, Tamera Topham and Vicki (Shawn) Mason, all of Texas; his sister, Lynda (Fred) Janette of California; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two nieces; former wife, mother of his children; and continued friend, Peggy Espie. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War, General Motors retiree, and he enjoyed many summers at Leisurewood Campground in Akron, New York.

Private interment. Contributions can be made to Home Care of Rochester, 85 Metro Park, Rochester 14623 in his memory.


HOLLEY

•Baker, John E. "Jack," On January 6, 2009 at the age of 82. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Flora; daughters, Connie, Betty Sadowski (fianceé William T. Abbott), Brenda (Michael) Sofia, Terri Moyer, Jody (Robert) Meringolo; son, John (Linda); grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Sarah, Elizabeth, Jeremy, Joseph and Jennie; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was a WWII Veteran and an active member of the VFW Post 202 and American Legion.

Funeral Services were held January 10 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.


OGDEN

•Piano, Octave Joseph, On December 31, 2008 at age 80. He is survived by his wife Lorna Piano; his children Jo Michelle (Michael) Fantanza, Christine Thompson, Robert (Sandy) Piano, Colleen Coccia, LeaAnne (Steven) Wise, James (Trisha) Sullivan; son-in-law David Coccia; sisters-in-law Terry Piano, Carol (Jim) Sauer; 13 grand-children; nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Norman Piano and son-in-law David Thompson. Joe is a World War II veteran, a long stand-ing member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Depew Aerie 2692 and is a Past New York State Aerie President.

Funeral Services were held January 5 at the McAfee Cemetery, Fort Erie, Ontario. A local memorial will be held Saturday, January 10 at St. Christopher's Church, Chili.


SPENCERPORT

•Quinn, Jean (Lane), On January 4, 2009 at the age of 79. She joins her husband Don and son, Brian who pre-deceased her. She will be greatly missed by her surviv-ing children and their spouses; Kevin (Kim) Quinn, Suzie Quinn (Mike Herrmann), Patty (Dave Pagani), Terry (Ginny) Quinn, Lynn Quinn (Marie Rampello), Tom (Wendy) Quinn and Bridget Quinn (Steve Pollock); her grandchildren Jake Quinn, Katie (Sean Fallon), Courtney, David Alan and Rob Pagani, Sean and Ryan Quinn, Kelly Herrmann, Tim and Michael Quinn; sis-ters-in-law Martha and Shirley Quinn, Eleanor Weigand; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held January 9 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or to Catholic Family Center, 87 North Clinton Avenue, Rochester 14604 in her memory.
