•Townsend, Helen M. (May), of Rochester, age 100 died January 18, 2010. She is survived by her daughters, Eileen (Robert) Brighton, Norma (Hugh) Ratigan; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, R. Kenneth Townsend and her brother, Theodore E. May.

A Funeral Mass was said January 22 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Gates. Private interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or masses can be offered in her memory.


BROCKPORT

•Schmidt, Michael J., January 24, 2010. Survived by devoted wife Deborah; children Kelly, Kathryn and Ryan; loving grandchildren Madison and Anthony; parents Joseph and Irene Schmidt; siblings Barbara (Warren) Clark, Peggy (Lee) David, Thomas (Linda) Schmidt, David (Tina) Schmidt; sisters-in-law Linda (David) Guida and Cheryl (Victor) Tkalenko; brother-in-law Kevin (Karen) Vogel; god-daughter Julie Dallo; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Michael retired from Valeo.

•Copp, Merle I. “Jake,” January 14, 2010 at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife, Elinor (Nesbit) Copp; his children, Rebecca (Mike) Coogan, Beth (Gene) Lafaro, Harold Copp, Julie (Ken) Fee and Melissa (Doug) Ouimette; grandchildren, Matthew (Julie), Aaron, Jennifer, Nicholas, Amy, Jeffrey, Marissa, Miranda, Makayla, Mariaina, Mariah, Monica and Liam; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Eli and Ava; his siblings, Vera Leach, Roberta Jackson, Raymond Copp and Byron (Pat) Copp; sisters-in-law, Mildred McElwaine, Doris Nesbit and Margurite Copp; brother-in-law, Joseph Magno; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Memorial Service was held January 30 at Union Congregational UCC, Churchville. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. •Hopson, Donald R., January 23, 2010, at age 62. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon (Agrilla) Hopson; children, Casey (Mark) Gingher, James (Crystal) Hopson, Daniel Hopson; six grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke Gingher, Brian, Benjamin, Dani, Derek Hopson; many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Ruby Hopson.

Funeral Services were held January 26 at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Avon. Contributions can be made to the Avon Volunteer Ambulance or to Lollypop Farm in his memory.

•Milgate, Nancy Lou (Foster), January 27, 2010. After a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her loving husband and companion Bob Milgate; sons Tom (Teri) Milgate, Dan (Jackie) Milgate, Pat (Chris) Milgate; daughter Debbie (Rick) Moyer; sisters Judy (Bill) Anderson and Janet Driscoll; brother Paul (Randa) Foster; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Preceded by son Timothy Robert Milgate and grandson Matthew Zachary Milgate.

A Memorial Service was held January 30 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Greece. Memorial contributions can be made to the Golisano Children’s Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642, or to the Lipson Cancer Center, 1425 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621 in her memory.

•Fiscus, Thomas H., January 26, 2010 at age 46. Survived by his wife, Colleen Fiscus; parents, Harold and Barbara Fiscus; brothers, Bob (Kim) Fiscus, Jim (Diane) Fiscus and sister, Karen (Mike) Boehley; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved dogs, Libby and Kayla. Tom was a skilled tool & die maker and a passionate Rams and Reds fan.

A Memorial Mass was said January 27 at St. Lawrence Church, Greece. Private interment. Contributions can be made to Park Ridge Chemical Dependency Services or The Sisters of St. Joseph of Rochester in his memory.


•Sengillo, Josephine J. (Zanghi), January 22, 2010. Predeceased by her husband, Michael P. and granddaughter, Amanda. Survived by her sons, Gary M. and Michael J. (Eileen); grandchildren, Josh, Gary II, Shanna, Ryan and Kristyn; great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, many dear friends. Special thanks to niece, Ann Wright.

Funeral Services were held January 25 at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, Hilton. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice in her memory.


KENDALL

•Bonacci, Jessie F. (Tennity), age 77, January 21, 2010. Survived by children, Luella Tennity of Spencerport, Russell (Lorane) Tennity Jr. of Kendall, Leo (Helen) Tennity of Gates; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanne (Louie) Feola of Hilton. Predeceased by husband, Kenneth Dunn.

Funeral Services were held January 26 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Interment at a later date.


•Schultz, Melvin F., 71, of Largo, Florida died January 18, 2010 at home. Born in Albion, he moved to Florida from Kendall in 1993. He retired from Eastman Kodak after 32 years of service. He was a Navy veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW in Hamlin. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ruth; three sons, David of Largo, Thomas (and wife, Danielle) of Glendale, California, and Gary (and wife, Jenny) of Loveland, Colorado; twin brother, Marvin of Indiana; aunt, Ruth Drennan of Zephyrhills, Florida; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors was held January 22 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, Bay Pines, Florida.


NORTH CHILI

•Hemstreet, Kenneth J., January 22, 2010. Predeceased by his parents, James and Elizabeth. Survived by his brother, Christopher (Christenia) and niece, Madeline; grandfather, James Hemstreet; several aunts, uncles, cousins, many loving friends, and his golden retriever, Lexus.

SPENCERPORT

•Schwartz, Richard J., Sr., Born in Rochester, September 25, 1920. Died in Leesburg, Florida, January 14, 2010. Survived by his loving wife, Vivian of 67 years; daughter, Kathleen (Jerry) Smith of Spencerport; son, Richard (Wendy) Schwartz Jr. of Gresham, Oregon; daughter, Jean of Davie, Florida; grandchildren Michael Smith, Craig and Christopher Schwartz, Michelle (Mitchell) Flagg; great-grandchildren; Jordan Boberg, Caitlin Smith, Madaleine and Matthew Flagg. He was the former owner of Northwest Trailer Supply, a World War II veteran and author of “Confessions of an Old Geezer.” Interment: Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.


•Sheffet, Wilson S., January 21, 2010, suddenly at the age of 51. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Tifere. He is survived by his wife, Dawn; son, Matthew (Amber) Sheffet; daughter, Brittany Sheffet; granddaughter, Abriana Sheffet; his brother, Fred (Lilo) Sheffet; in-laws, George (Clara) Reiber, Sr., George (Jackie) Reiber, Jr., Carl (Nancy) Reiber, Mike (Lisa) Odorczyk and Betty Reiber; many nieces, nephews and close friends.
