AREA

•Habgood, Charles J., At the Veteran’s Home, Batavia, March 2, 2009 at age 87. Predeceased by his wife, Ruth of 60 years and his daughter, Sharon, niece, Nancy Penders. He is survived by his sons, Ted (Kathy), Tim (Ann); grandchildren, Cody, Brent, Matt, Jenny and Kristy. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Jill (Jon) Bower, Kitty (Burt) Husband, Eric (Sue) Wood, John (Wilma) Wood, Bud Penders. Charles was an Army Air Corps Vet serving as a B-25 Navigator in the Pacific during WWII. He worked for over 40 years at Eastman Kodak, always providing a loving and supporting home for his family in LeRoy and Hilton.

A Funeral Service was held March 6 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home Inc., Hilton. Interment, Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy. Contributions can be made to the NYS Veterans Home, Batavia in his memory.


BROCKPORT

•Blossom, Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Quinn), February 25, 2009, at age 81. Predeceased by husband Howard Blossom. Survived by daughters, Sheila (Bob) Reynolds, Barbara (Dave) VanHerreweghe, Valerie (Don) Krieg. Adored by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister of Barbara Hanf, Marian Lang, Beverly Hare and Van Quinn.

A Memorial Service was held March 6 at the First Baptist Church of Brockport. Donations can be made to Support Organization of Trisomy 18 (SOFT) or Visiting Nurse Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 270441, Rochester 14627-0441 in her memory.


•Heffron, Victorine O’Brien, On February 25, 2009 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her husband James C. Heffron Sr. in 1996; sisters Monie, Nora, June, Bernice, Sally; brothers Mickey and Wayne. She is survived by her daughter Terry C. Collins; son James C. Heffron Jr.; granddaughters Lori (Bill Spruce) Brice, Vicki (Bob) Brawn, Lisa Smith and their mother Olive Heffron of Florida; six great-grandchildren; three sisters Geraldine Leverenz, Elaine Delaney of Florida, Jackie (Bob) Rowling; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

CHURCHVILLE

•Alexander, Charles A., March 1, 2009 at age 83, following a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Theresa (Martin) Alexander; his children John (Susan) Alexander of Brockport, Margaret (Bob) Lewis of Bergen, Betsy (John) Gremer of Pavilion and Susan (Daniel) Sargent of Chili; seven grandchildren Christina Alexander, Robert and Matthew Lewis, Mary and Jennifer Gremer, Adam and Luke Sargent; sisters Joyce Johnson of Sodus and Shirley (Richard) Murphy of Ontario; brothers Bud (MaryAnn) Alexander of Byron, George (Patricia) Alexander of Churchville and Larry (Donna) Alexander of Bergen; many nieces and nephews including special niece Jodi Alexander of Churchville; many fiends including his good friend Jim Foster of North Chili. He was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Churchville area.

•Reilich, Margaret S., February 26, 2009. She is predeceased by her husband William A. Reilich. Margaret is survived by her sons, Gary (Lorraine) Reilich, William D. (Amy) Reilich; daughter, Christine (Richard) Burke; grandchildren, Gary Reilich, Grant Reilich, William D. Reilich, Jr., David Reilich, Timothy Reilich, Samantha Reilich, Heather Reilich, Kerry (Lawrence Samuelson) Burke and Kevin Burke; great-grandchildren, Josephine Samuelson, Mackenzie Burke and Aiden Burke; brother, Robert (Jean) Schuler of Florida; sister, Anne Schuler; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many dear friends.

HILTON

•Patterson, Richard J., formerly of Webster: Predeceased by his son, Richard D. Patterson. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Margaret J. Patterson; daughter, Susan Knight (Ray Bauman); grandchildren, Jason Updaw, Sean Updaw and Rory Knight; lifelong friend, Jack Hoderlein.

A Remembrance Service was held March 2 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, Webster. Contributions can be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children in his memory.


HOLLEY

•Spychalski, Robert J. "Bob," of Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Holley, age 84, died February 13, 2009. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helena (Christopher); daughters, Roberta (Charles) Bommelee, Jeanne (Mark) Rogers; granddaughter, Bridget Bommele (Jeff and Cameron Davis); brother, Kenneth (MaryAnn) Spychalski; sisters, Alyce (Jerry) Reamer, JoAnn (Roger) Herman; niece Diane (Peter) Pellegrino; sister-in-law, Nancy (predeceased by brother Richard) Spychalski; brother-in-law, Harold (Dorothy) Christopher; nieces and nephews. Robert served in the US Navy during WWII, was Past Chief of Holley Fire Department, Orleans County Fire Coordinator and NYS Fire Instructor and retired Postmaster from Scottsville.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Holley on March 13, at 10:30 a.m. Donations can be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, New Port Richey, Florida in his memory.


NORTH CHILI

•Lawrence, Lois J. (Mickelson), March 1, 2009. Predeceased by her husbands, Franklin Mickelson and William Lawrence; son Franklin Mickelson Jr.; daughter Sue Church; grandson, William Mickelson; and granddaughter Valerie Church. Survived by her children, William (Dodie) Mickelson, Jeanne (Joe) Proctor, and Peter (Michelle) Mickelson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Arlene) Fontaine; and sister, Agnes Nagel; many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said March 5 at St. Christopher’s Church, North Chili. Interment, St. Pius Cemetery. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 in her memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Webster, Barbara A. (Zorn), February 27, 2009, at age 68. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years Blythe C. Webster. She is survived by her children Gene (Doreen) Webster, Melanie (Dan) Brosius, Lisa (Ken) Kellerson and MSgt (retired) Paul D. Webster USAF; her brother Richard B. Zorn; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of her Life will be held March 8 from 12 to 5 p.m. at 670 Whittier Road, Spencerport. Contri-butions can be made to the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance in her memory.
