•Morgenstern, Ellen H., age 95, formerly of Lakewood, New York and Hilton East in Hilton died March 7, 2010 at the Lakeside Beikirch Care Center, Brockport. Surviving are two daughters, Ann Lee Walker of Brockport and Carolyn Coppedge (Sam) of Richmond, Virginia; two stepsons, Bill Morgenstern (Jeanne) of Jamestown and Brent Morgenstern (Michele) of Watertown; six grandchildren; sister-in-law Ann Dibble (Paul) of Jamestown; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

BROCKPORT

•McBride, Edward M. “Ed,” March 6, 2010, at age of 81. He was predeceased by his parents James and Cora McBride and five siblings. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Agnes J. McBride; his children, David (Kathy) DePappe, Barton (Sue) Peters, William (Matilda) Peters, Linda (Al) Beebe, Mark Faulise, John (Laurie) McBride, Deborah McBride-Aponte and Robert McBride; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his brother, Albert (Ann) McBride of Brockport; sister-in-law, Sandi (Bob Moore) Wheaton; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Funeral Services were held March 9 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Spring interment. Contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice in his memory.


•Pokrant, Gerald R., March 4, 2010 at age 84. He is predeceased by his parents, Bruno (Marie Kotnik) Pokrant and the mother of his children, Agnes “Paula” Lesar; daughter, Kathryn Pokrant. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey, John (Marcia), J. Peter (Shannon) Pokrant; sister, Rosemary (Frank) Mahn; and five grandchildren. Gerald was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII and had won many awards from the Society of Plastics Engineers.

HAMLIN

•Diehl, Marcella H. (Munch), March 9, 2010 at age 83. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Diehl. Survived by son, James Carl (Lilia) Diehl; daughters, Lisa (Rick) Beyrle and Suzanne (Martin) Wilson; grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole), Nicholas (Amy) and Ryan; great-grandson, Elliot.

Her Funeral Mass was said March 12 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Hamlin. Private interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Aid to Haiti, 3747 Brick Schoolhouse Road, Hamlin 14464 in her memory.


HILTON

•Mule, Leo, November 16, 2009 at age 80. Survived by his wife, Irene; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services were held at the convenience of the family.


HOLLEY

•Bleier, Bernard W. “Bernie,” March 2, 2010, at age 82. Predeceased by his brothers, Jack, Alfred, James and Paul Bleier; brother-in-law, Thomas R. Lynch; grandsons, Adam, Nicholas and Zachary Bleier. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ann (Riccioni); children, Barbara (William) Jarosinski, Virginia (John) Nugent of Apex, North Carolina, Peter (Connie) Bleier and Henry (Mary) Bleier; grandchildren, Tracy (Damian) Sugar, Keith Jarosinski, John “Jack” and Joseph Nugent, Royce and Hilary Bleier and Hannah Jean Bleier; great-granddaughters, Emily and Elysa Sugar; brother Stephen (Terry) Bleier; sister, Geraldine Bleier Lynch; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bleier, Pam Bleier and Anne Bleier; many nieces and nephews. Bernie was a member of the Racing Pigion Club of GRNY.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated March 8 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Holley. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 9 South Main Street, Holley 14470.


•Stymus, Graydon Lee, Age 91, died March 4, 2010. Graydon was predeceased by his wife Helen and his son Gary. He is survived by his sons Duane (Julie) Stymus of Holley, James (Patricia Beadle) Stymus of Holley; daughters Marilee (Fred) Press of Hamburg, Patricia (Arnold) Nichols of Dansville, Kathy (James) Cronin of Rochester, Leslie (Dennis) Piedmonte of Holley; Carol (Gary) Whitaker of Holley; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister Carol McHenry of San Diego, California; special friend Dick Bauer of Alexander.

Funeral Services were held March 8 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Holley. Burial with full military honors in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Clarendon Ambulance or to Hospice of Orleans in his memory.


HULBERTON

•VanDetta, Marion (Cassidy), age 87, died March 8, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband George Sr., sons Anthony, Peter, George Jr., daughter Judy Rutherford. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Richard) Swanger of Hamlin, Janice Lorback (Roger Lettice) of Brockport, Catherine VanDetta of Hulberton; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She also leaves four little angels, Matthew and Sara Fisher, T. J. and Starlet Knight.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Monday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions can be made to the Genesee County Nursing Home in her memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Barton, Robert H. “Bob,” Born on May 31, 1930, died March 4, 2010 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by his parents George and Jessie Barton. Bob will be missed by his loving family and many friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Edith A. (Hoomans) Barton; his children, Dale (Sarah) Barton, Kimberlee (Thomas) Holding, Dawn (Bucky) Ades, Robert (Janice) Barton and Heidi (David) Brescia; his 17 grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Bob was a paid Fireman for 21 years for Ridge Road Fire District and retired as Battalion Chief (2C-45). He was also a Life Member of the Spencerport Fire Department and served as Fire Chief from 1965 to 1967. Bob was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Funeral Services were held March 7 at Greece Assembly of God Church. Spring interment, Fairfield Cemetery, Spencerport. Contributions can be made to Aurora House Comfort Care, P.O. Box 21, Spencerport in his memory.


•Jurs, Richard M. “Dick,” March 4, 2010 at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife, Cathy A. (Dyer) Jurs; his son, Bryon F. Jurs; his siblings, Bernard (Vikki) Jurs, Betty (Ronald) Zerniak; nieces, nephews and cousins and including all of his fishing buddies. Dick was a member of the Spencerport Fire Department and Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post #330.

Services and interment were held at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Seneca Park Zoo Society, 2222 St. Paul Street, Rochester, NY 14621 in his memory.
