AREA

•Hunter, Erik P., of Seattle, Washington, age 45, died peacefully in Seattle on April 9, 2008. He was born in Rochester to Robert and Louise Hunter. He graduated from Churchville-Chili High School in 1980 and from the University of Buffalo in Industrial Engineering. He settled in the Seattle area in 1995 following a cross-country bicycle trip. Erik was employed in the accounting department of SportsArt Fitness. Music was the love of Erik's life, in high school he played the French Horn. Later he played the trombone and was a musician in several bands over the years. He was a founding member and music director of the Cascadia Jazz Community Band. He is survived by his parents in North Chili, and siblings Gregg (Janice) of Dunstable, Massachusetts, Carolyn of Durango, Colorado and Jeanne Micklin (Adam); nieces Elsa and Greta of West Chester, Pennsylvania.

The Cascadia Jazz Band provided music at the Memorial Service/reception held April 12 at Unity Church in Lynnwood, Washington. The family requests that you support your local community band through donations and attendance in his memory.


•Sedam, Samuel C., age 82, of Amherst, previously of Himrod and Spencerport, died April 26, 2008 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, New York. Sam was employed by Eastman Kodak Co in Rochester, as an electrical engineer in pa-per sensitizing; retiring after 38 years of service in 1981. He and his wife, Jean, owned and operated Spencerport Paint and Paper for many years.

Funeral Services were held April 30 at Himrod Baptist Church. Interment, Grove Mount Cemetery, Himrod. Contributions can be made to Himrod Baptist Church, P.O. Box 114, Himrod 14842 in his memory.


•Wright, Neva L. (Blair), of Albion, formerly of Hilton, on April 28, 2008. Neva was born on July 23, 1917 to Frank G. and M. May (Snapp) Blair. She is survived by her son, Douglas F. (Beverly) Wright of Medina; three grandchildren, Matthew Wright of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lisa Wright of Churchville and Lori Wright of Morrisville, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Frances (Robert) Kamp of Albany; a brother, Robert (Marge) Blair Gansevoort; daughter-in-law, Jane Suarez of Churchville. Neva was predeceased by her husband of Leonard M. Wright, whom she married on December 10, 1938; her son, George M. Wright; her parents; her brothers, Alvin and George Blair; sisters, Ruth Crook, Inez Cox and Iva Howard.

Interment and Graveside Services will be held Saturday, May 24 at 1 p.m. at Springbrook Cemetery, Fairhaven, New York.


BROCKPORT

•Jewell, Douglas G., April 26, 2008 at age 35. Survived by his loving mother, Sharon Snyder; father, Terry Snyder; siblings, Joanne (Jody) Sherman, Charles Snyder, Terry Snyder II, Lucien (Linda) Snyder and Gina Rodi; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncle, Patty Parsons, Penny Jewell and Gilfred Jewell; close friend, Jeff Garnier; devoted dog, Rocky and many other family and friends.

A Funeral Service was held May 3 in the All Seasons Chapel of White Haven Memorial Park. Donations can be made to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or to a charity of one's choice in his memory.


•Jubenville, Virginia D., on April 28, 2008 at the age of 85. Daughter of Bernard and Gladys Drake. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Robert; daughter Diana; son Jeffrey (Elizabeth); and three cherished grandchildren Tristan, Jacob and Tanner.

A Memorial Service was held April 30 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Brockport. Private interment. Contributions can be made to the Brockport Ambulance or Seymour Library in her memory.


•Lane, Marion E., Age 92, died February 20, 2008. Predeceased by son, Donald; son-in-law Arthur Brennan. Survived by children Beverly Brennan, Stephen (Ruth) Lane, Charles Lane, Judy Lane, Richard (Ann) Lane; daughter-in-law, Carole Lane; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on her birthday, May 14, 2008, in the assembly room at First Presbyterian Church, 34 East Albion Street, Holley, from noon until 3 p.m.


CHURCHVILLE

•Barry, John J. "Jack," age 83, died April 19, 2008. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen; his son John of Florida; his daughters Kathleen Beasom of North Carolina, Jan (Ron) Lee of Ohio, Shirley (Rich) Duhan of Spencerport, Debra (Ed) Housel of Gates; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter Joan. Retiree of GM.

A Memorial Service was held April 26 at Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton.


•Boss, Gertrude R. (Bubel) "Grandma Gert," April 29, 2008 on her 92nd birthday with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Clement L. Boss. She is survived by her sons Richard of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Jim of California, Mike (Bev) of Ballston Spa, New York, Tim of Dayton, Ohio, and Tom (Willine) of Beavercreek, Ohio; her daughters, Peg (Tom) Lynch of Churchville and Sheila of Minnesota; her grandchildren, Mark (Michele), Carrie (Greg), Tom (Kathy), Kelly (Harry), Tracy, Michelle (Russell), Benjamin, Amy, Emily (Mark), Katie (Kevin), Melanie, Jason, David, Joshua and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Anna, Ally, Katie, Ashley, Michael, Colin, Breanna, Mackenzie, Madison, Megan and Little Angel; sisters-in-law, Therese Pierce, Joan Boss, June Boss and Ruth Warren; many nieces and nephews.

HAMLIN

•Lynch, Mary T., age 66, April 25, 2008. She is survived by her father, Warren Lynch; brothers, Michael (Paula) Lynch, Dennis (Lavon) Lynch; sister, Pat (John) Adesso. She was predeceased by her brother, Timothy Lynch. Mary had been a long standing member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Secular Franciscans.

A Funeral Mass was said April 28 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Hamlin. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Building Fund in her memory.


•Perkins, Beatrice G. (Morey) (Hoffman), Born on March 17, 1912. Died February 20, 2008 in Florida. Predeceased by her parents, William and Genevieve Morey; husbands, Charles Prescott Hoffman and Charles H. Perkins; brother, George W. Morey Sr. Survived by her sister, Florence M. Morey; sister-in-law, Rowena Morey Hamilton; nieces and nephews, Marie (George) Pollett, George Jr. (Linda) Morey, Dianne (Alex) Szczupakouski, Jerald Morey, Douglas (Barbara) Morey.

Interment will be held Saturday, May 17 at noon at Lakeside Cemetery, Hamlin.


HILTON

•Allison, Robert E., formerly of Niagara Falls, New York and a 40 year resident of Hilton died April 21, 2008 at age 78. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth J. (Lundberg) Allison; their children, Robin E. Allison and Robert C. (Kris) Allison; grandson, Ian; sister, Doris (Andy) Mucha; many nieces and nephews. He was a U. S. Army vet-eran, former member of the Hilton Lions Club and a re-tiree of the Hilton Lions Club and a retiree of Rochester Products.

Funeral Services were held May 3 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Contributions can be made to the Hilton Fire Department or to Lollypop Farm in his memory.


•Baciulis, June A., on April 26, 2008. Predeceased by her husband, Robert F. and son, James M. She is survived by her one son, Robert G. and Bonnie; two daughters, Lois A. Massar, Marcia Kucmerowski; one brother, George (Shirley) Vacca; one sister, Rosemarie (Neville) Daden; sister-in-law, Lillian Greene; 10 grand-children; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

•Gurski, Michael G., age 65, April 27, 2008, after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Judy (Page) Gurski; their children, Laurie (Jeff) Diedrich, Michael (Shelley) Gurski; a sister Barbara (Bruce Popper) Sullivan; grandchildren Tyler, Jacob, Molly Diedrich, Cory and Ryan Gurski; niece Dee Popper and many more loving and supportive family and friends.

•Schwartz, Jean D., On April 25, 2008. At the age of 40, Jean achieved her nursing degree. She also loved her garden and her two cats, Bailey and Bootsie. She leaves behind her loving son, Steven; daughters, Diane, Susan and Jane; her grandchildren, Jennifer, David, Mikey, Adrienna, Amanda, Christina and Michael.

Services were held April 29 at Arndt Funeral Home, Greece. Donations can be made to a charity of one's choice in her memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Snyder, Randall D. "Randy," Suddenly, April 27, 2008 at age 48. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Snyder and his sister-in-law, Linda Snyder. He is survived by his daughters, Lori Ann (John) Kalinowski and Jessica R. Snyder; his mother, Doreen Snyder of Buffalo; his siblings, Edward (Lois) Snyder, Rebecca (Dennis) Borkowski, Regina (Mark) Rozier and Robert Snyder, all of Buffalo; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held April 30 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Contributions can be made to the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport 14450 in his memory.


•Voorhies, Candace "Candy" (Wersinger), April 29, 2008. Candy grew up in Walton, a small town in the Catskill Mountains. Following college, Candy began working as a psychiatric evaluator for the Genesee Mental Health Center in Rochester. She then worked for the Monroe Co. Department of Social Services, retiring in 2005 as a Caseworker Supervisor in Child Protective Services. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Jennifer) and Todd (Sonny); grandchildren, Nikki, Tim and Rachel, (Scott and Jenn are expecting Candy's 8th grandchild), Duncan, Casey, Max and Mason; former husband Richard (Shirley) Wersinger; and family in Walton; beloved cats, Sparky and Chickie.

A Memorial Service was held May 3 at the First Unitarian Church of Rochester. Donations in her memory can be directed to Rochester Animal Services, 184 Verona Street, Rochester, NY 14609, which is committed to the care and adoption of stray and neglected animals.


•Wheaton, Theodore E., April 22, 2008, at age 71. He is survived by his daughter Marlene (Tina Berezuk) Wheaton of Maplewood, New Jersey; his son, Michael Visbaras; granddaughter Kristen Goater of South Carolina; great-granddaughters Jessica, Danielle and Ava Goater; Carol Wheaton; special friend Bonnie Curry; sister Janet Ferrian of California; brother Donald (Esther Harris) Brown; sister Phyllis Dake; several nieces and nephews. He was a former employee of Langie Fuel Co. and was a retiree of Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning.

A Memorial Service was held April 28 in the Creation Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford. Contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps in his memory.
