•McCargo, Morris G., Age 73, of Pike, New York died August 16, 2008 at the Wyoming Co. Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born April 28, 1935 in Holley, son of the late Robert and Anita (Brackett) McCargo. He served in the U. S. Army from 1954-1956. Morris was a New York State Conservation Officer for 34 years, 15 of which he spent as a Lieutenant. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joan Degolier McCargo; son, David McCargo of Pike; two daughters, Marjorie (William) Asberry of Castile, Elizabeth (Gerald) Mattingly of Pike; two sisters, Gaile (Alan) Graves of Illinois, Beverly (Jim) Kauffman of Florida; seven grandchildren Naomi (Ken) Tisdale, Michele (Dave) Paddock, Heith (Denise) Mattingly, Blaine Asberry, Kara Asberry, Meghan McCargo, Marina Leopold; four great grandchildren Brooke, Taylor, Devin Tisdale, Kylie Paddock; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Patsy McCargo.

•Hamilton, Rowena (Morey), Died August 14, 2008. Daughter of Walter and Jessie Wright. Predeceased by parents, husbands, George W. Morey Sr., and Ray E. Hamilton; brothers, Walter Wright, Gordon Wright, Foster Wright; sister, Evelyn Unterborn; sister-in-law, Beatrice Hoffman Perkins. She is survived by her children, Marie (George) Follett, George (Linda) Morey Jr., Dianne (Alex) Szczupakowski, Jerold Morey, Douglas (Barbara) Morey; stepson, Gary (Nancy) Hamilton; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Florence Morey. Member of the Bergen United Methodist Church, Past Noble Grand Rebekah Lodge in Bergen, Order of Eastern Star, GE retiree.

•Janas, Mary J. (Pratt), died August 19, 2008 at age 79. She is predeceased by her parents Floyd and Hazel Pratt, sister, Dorothy Fetterman and brothers, Elton and Elwyn Pratt. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Howard Janas; four children, Dianne (Bob) Van Dunk of Georgia, Dale (Laura) Janas of Clifton Springs, Duane Janas and Karen Janas, both of Bergen; three grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Janas of Clifton Springs, Sarah (Jason) Nackley of North Carolina and Dennis Janas of Bergen; a great-grandchild Aiden Janas of Clifton Springs; a brother, Leo Pratt of Bainbridge; many nieces, nephews and family friend Kurt Treiber of Buffalo also survive. A graduate of Morrisville Ag & Tech College, she was a member of Bergen United Methodist Church since 1954.

•Lammes, Nancy B., On August 15, 2008, at the age of 70. She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Tracy), Benny (Robin), Lorena, Rebecca Miller; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; several sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.

•Lynch, Rosie, Age 90, of (Hayts Corners) Ovid, died at Lakeside Beikirch Care Center in Brockport, August 15, 2008. She is survived by her son, William (Karen) Lynch of Wolcott; daughter, Sharon (Wayne) Miller of Hamlin and a large extended family.

•VanGelder, Marian W., August 12, 2008, age 95. She was predeceased by her son, George, 2000. •Elmer, Richard H. "Dick," August 15, 2008, age 73. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Marion Elmer; his sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Leonard LeBeau; brothers Walter, Gerald and Gene Elmer; brother-in-law Marion Fry. He is survived by his sister Irene Fry; sister-in-law, Lois Elmer; nieces and nephews Leonard (Mary) LeBeau Jr., Marie (Gene) Newman, Carol and Christine LeBeau, Lori Schmidt, Kevin Fry, Sharon Elmer, Jean (Michael) Smith, William, Margaret, Catherine and Maria Elmer, Dolores (Anthony) Gratto and Lucy Sulkowski; many lifelong friends including the Richard and William Maier families, the VerWiere family, the Thurley family, Tom and Jackie Roach, Tony Yazback, Kevin and Nancy Kailborn and Harry Griffin. Dick was a 47 year member of the Gates Chili Volunteer Fire Department, House #2, social member of the Spencerport Fireman Exempt Club, an active volunteer with many police organizations, a member of the International Harvester NYS Chapter #35, an Army veteran and a member of Belmont American Legion Post #808, an avid Miami Dolphin and NASCAR fan.

•Harper, Marian G. (Gardner), August 14, 2008, at age 95. Predeceased by her husband, John O. Harper. She is survived by her loving daughters Gail E. (Ken) Gill of Hilton and Marilyn J. (Ted) Karlof of Webster; grandchildren, Gary (Arezou) Gill, Mark (Debbie) Gill, Bret (Christine) Gill, Gaye (Noel) Paloma, Elizabeth (Dave) Coene and Laura (Edmund) Jones; great-grandchildren, Trevor Andrew, Kenny, Jonathan, Rani, Thomas, Ryan, Timothy, Kennedy, Grace and Tyler; sis-ter-in-law, Mildred Prevost. Marian was a life long member of the Elmgrove United Methodist Church and a life member of Etolian Chapter No. 308, Order of the Eastern Star, Spencerport.

HAMLIN

•Elliott, Mary Catherine Leccese, On August 17, 2008 at age 80, after a brief illness. She was a devoted wife and companion to her husband of 62 years, Wilfred. She was a giving, loving mother and friend to daughters and sons-in-law Cheryl Rose (Leonard) Quinn of Webster and Margaret Mary (Robert) Ecklund of Gates. She was a proud grandmother to Jeffrey Scott Thomas (Erin Lewis) Quinn of Toronto, Amy Elizabeth (Mark) Terranova of Irondequoit, and Christine Rose (Eric) Ernst of Portland, Oregon. She was a vibrant great-grandmother to precious little Leo Joseph David Terranova. She leaves her faithful canine companions, Popi and Casey. Mary will be missed by her Ventura cousins, as well as other relatives and friends. Mary was an alumni of Brockport High School, and lifelong resident of Hamlin, where she was active in Hamlin VFW Auxiliary. She was a Duffy Mott Company retiree.

A Mass in Celebration of Mary's life was held at Newman Oratory, Brockport on August 22. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport 14450 in her memory.


•Elliott, Wilfred Raymond, On August 18, 2008 at age 90, following his wife, Mary of 62 years to peace one day after her passing. He was a caring and devoted father to daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Rose (Leonard) Quinn of Webster and Margaret Mary (Robert) Ecklund of Gates. He was a proud grandfather to Jeffrey Scott Thomas (Erin Lewis) Quinn of Toronto, Amy Elizabeth (Mark) Terranova of Irondequoit and Christine Rose (Eric) Ernst of Portland, Oregon. He was a smiling great grandfather to precious little Leo Joseph David Terranova; brother to Robert (Char) Elliott of Hilton. He leaves his faithful canine companions, Popi and Casey. Wilfred was a lifelong resident of Hamlin and was a Duffy Mott Company retiree. He was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving in Guam and Pearl Harbor. He was an active VFW member.

•O'Connor, Janet T. (Zurn), August 14, 2008 at age 74. Predeceased by her husband, Richard D. O'Connor, Sr.; daughters Janetta L. and Kimberly A. O'Connor; son, Christopher J. O'Connor; mother and father Christine and Stephen Zurn; brothers, Sam, Phillip, Charles and William Zurn; sister, Elizabeth Shaffer; step-daughter, Linda (Wisniewski) Shepard; brother-in-law, Robert O'Connor. She is survived by her son, Richard D. O'Connor, Jr.; loving daughter and best friend, Michelle A. Hart; son-in-law Donald C. Kniff; loving grandsons, William J. Hart III, Adam W. HILTON

•Bean, Victoria W., On August 2, 2008 at age 61. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard; devoted children, Benjamin and Kathryn Bean; mother, Frances Rediehs; brother and sister, Robert and Carol Ware; step mother Elizabeth Ware and half sisters, Kelly and Kerri Ware. Victoria was a native of Chicago, Illinois and graduated from DePauw University. She taught at Walt Disney School, Gates-Chili Central School District for five years prior to her employment with the Monroe County Water Authority in 1973. Mrs. Bean was Manager of Claims and Collections at the Authority at the time of her death. Vickie was an avid gardener.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Unitarian Church, 220 Winton Road South, Rochester from 10:30 a.m. to noon October 11, 2008. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.


•Bernstine, Joseph T., July 11, 2008, age 65 in Gainesville, Florida. Survived by his children, Joseph T. and Lorie; two sisters, Rita Stackman and Janett (Bill) Mura; his brother, Carl (Ann Marie) Bernstine.

•Travis, Lois M., On August 16, 2008, age 82. Originally from Wellsville, NY, Lois eventually settled in Rochester where she worked for 20 years for the NYS Dept. of Taxation & Finance before retiring in 1991. Lois is survived by her six beloved children, Susan (Ronald) Kuehne, Patricia (Gus) Bouros of Toronto, Barbara Travis, David (Mary Lou) Travis, Daniel (Charlene) Travis of South Carolina and Tamara Jones; 12 grandchildren, Michele (Richard) Holcomb, Lisa (Ben) Arnold, South Carolina, Brian (Daniela) Kuehne of Florida, Christopher (Annette) Omeluch, Jon Bouros of Toronto, Traci Travis of South Carolina, Christine (Steve Vierra) Cruz, Michael (Ricki) Travis of Tennessee, Scott Kuehne of Florida, Vicki Bouros of Toronto, Sarah (Jeff Wight) and Andrew Travis. •Woodams, Dorothy J., Suddenly August 18, 2008, age 80. She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Woodams; her children Keitha Martin, Kurt (Robin) Woodams; five grandchildren, Lisa Kuhn, Tamara Martin, Bethany Martin (Jim Rouse), Ian (Linsey) Woodams, Kelly (Juan) Flores; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Lasch; aunt, Margaret Thirtle; several nieces and nephews. •Johnston, Robert B. Sr., August 13, 2008, at age 55. He was predeceased by his father William C. Johnston Sr. He is survived by his wife, Bonny T. Johnston; his son Robert "BJ" (Becky) Johnston Jr.; his grandchildren Bobby, Micalah, Henry and Nina; his mother Mary B. •Bohn, Frederick W., Suddenly, August 18, 2008, age 59. Predeceased by his parents, Fred and Frieda H. Bohn. Survived by his son, Frederick K.
