•McPherson, Amy S. (Blackmon), September 15, 2009, age 40, after a battle with brain cancer. Survived by husband, Herbert A. McPherson; daughter Taylor E. McPherson; parents Gene and Margaret Blackmon; sister Molly (Willie) Williams; sisters-in-law Julie VanDeusen, Patricia (Paul) Dentler, Emily (Jack) Antinore, Jane (Greg) Pitchford; nieces and nephews. Amy was a graduate of Gowanda Central School. Amy had worked as Security Manager at the Historical George Eastman House, Wal-Mart and for the last 11 years had been a stay-at-home mom.

A Celebration of Life was held September 19 at Brockport Free Methodist Church. Contributions can be made to the Brockport Free Methodist Church, 6787 Fourth Section Road, Brockport 14420 in her memory.

•Basinait, Mildred E., Age 88, September 8, 2009. Predeceased by husband Arnold in 1993; brothers Harold, Gerald, Art, Roy, Carl Downey; sister Velma Rohland. Survived by devoted sons, Steven (Linda) of Schenectacy, William (Roxie) of Albion; loving grandchildren Craig (Dawn) Basinait, Valerie (Matthew) Pettit both of Albion; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Kaitlyn; sister Veda Lemcke of Brockport; sister-in-law Mary (Ron) Ayrault of Holley; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said September 12 at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church. Burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Holy Family Parish or Hospice of Orleans in her memory.


•Belair, Irene M., September 13, 2009 at age 95. Predeceased by her husband, Charles; and daughter, Judith Prindle. Survived by family and many friends; especially June Cornelius, Loretta and Bill Jewsbury.

A Funeral Mass was said September 18 at St. Mary’s Church, Holley. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Holley.


•Marvin, Winefred F., age 90, on September 10, 2009. Predeceased by her husband, Buryle Marvin; and siblings, Bernice Legg, Ethel Cone, Evelyn Brydges, and David Fox. Survived by her children, Paul (Joan) Marvin and Linda Viney; grandchildren Todd (Amber) Marvin, Christopher Viney, Diane Spaulding (Christopher Viney, Diane Spaulding (Christopher Young), Jeffrey (Sara) Viney and their children, Michael, Alex and Joshua, Jill (Michael) Gildea and their daughter, Hannah; her siblings, Spencer Fox, Minor Fox, Gerald Fox, Loren Fox, Nancy Howard and Janice Barone.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 26 at Lakeview Community Church, 30 Long Pond Road, Rochester 14612. Memorial contributions can be made to Lakeview Church.

•Beer, Mabel C. (Justice Soule), September 10, 2009. Predeceased by her parents, Gilbert R. and Florence (Barnes) Justice; her brother, Gilbert C. Justice; her husbands, Albert W. Soule and Robert E. Beer; and her son Larry R. Soule. Survived by her children, Ronald (Kathleen) Soule, Bonnie (Roger) Bullivant, Lois Soule, Robert Beer Jr., and Susan (William) Perrine; her sister, Marguerite (Harry) Folwer; her brother, Rev. David (Bonnie) Justice; grandchildren, Lisa (Nelson) Kenyon, Kimberly (David) Bushman, Kevin (Gretchen) Soule, Jennifer (Phil) Longo, Karl (Matthew) La Due; many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Skidmore College of Nursing and a 50 year member of Hilton Baptist Church.

KENDALL

•Brehse, Carol B., Age 88, died September 11, 2009. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Bill; and sons, David, Barry and Paul. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Earl) Dietz; her sons, Neil (Marilyn) and Philip of Berlin, Germany; her daughters-in-law, Marcia and Cindy; grandchildren, Rachel, Josh, Nelda, Tami, Shaunte, Kristin, Matthew and Ric; and great-grandchldren, Bridgette, Ayla, Alani, Victorica, Vanessa, Brayden and Isaiah. She leaves behind a large extended family and the speical staff of Westside Manor, who lovingly cared for her the last two years.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of her life at Concordia Lutheran Church, Kendall on Saturday, September 26 at 11 a.m. Donations can be made to the church in her memory.

•Henderson, Curtis D., September 14, 2009 age 57. Predeceased by his brother, Gary. Survived by the wife of his youth (37 years), Denise (Gates); sons, David (Susan) and Brian Henderson; grandchildren, David Thomas and Emma Grace; parents, Lyeth and Phyllis “Pat”; sisters and brother, Connie (Richard) Peterson, Cheryl (Dan) Korn, Philip (Holly) Henderson; nieces and nephews.

•DeLisle, Omer L., Jr., September 10, 2009, at the age of 81. Predeceased by his parents Omer Sr. and Anne DeLisle; his wife, Ruth (Schoeps) DeLisle. Surviving by his son, Steven of Connecticut; daughters, Cynthia of Washington and Lisa of California; sisters, Frances (Anthony) Bianculli of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Joan Fagioli of Hawley, Pennsylvania and Jacqueline K. (Edward) Baum of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; best friend Dennis Hall of Spencerport; several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his parents Robert and Sherrill Layton; brother, Bob (Andrea) Layton; sister, Connie Layton; grandmother, Jane Layton; aunts Nancy Layton and Deanna (Jerry); uncles Butch and Scott (Debbie); nephews, Gary, Nicholas and Justin; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

•McAllister, Francis H. “Mac”, September 16, 2009 at age 86. He was survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty; daughters, Barbara (Dan) O’Bine and Beth McNall (Paul Sirianni); grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Kranenberg and Christopher Sheldon; Matt (Laura) McNall, Laurel McNall (Tim Muck), and Kayla McNall; one great granddaughter, Mackenzie Kranenberg; several sisters; brother; and special sister-in-law Shirley Quinn.

•Thousand, Betty M. (Stackman), of Katy, Texas; August 29, 2009, age 85. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter A. Thousand; sisters, Gladys Carr and Anna Mae Roach; brothers, Bill, Bud and Herman Stackman. Survived by her son, Gary (Laurie) Thousand; grandchildren, Deborah (Robert) Strandt, Samantha Black; great-grandson, Timothy Black. Betty and her family were formerly of Spencerport.

A Memorial Service was held September 16 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Interment was held privately. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.


•Vandertang, Adrian, September 16, 2009. Adrian is predeceased by his son Thomas Vandertang. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nellie (Smith) Vandertang; children, Judy (Gary) Gartz, William (Alison) Vandertang; daughter-in-law Sheila (Dave) Wohlers; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister Wilhelmina Bohrer; sister-in-law Gladys Stenzel; dog Shelby.

Adrian was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Hump Pilots Association and the Ferris Goodridge Legion Post #330. He was the owner of the Village Shoe Store, a life member of the Ogden Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Lions Club of Spencerport.

Funeral Services were held September 19 at Ogden Presbyterian Church, Spencerport. Interment, Fairfield Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Lions Club of Spencerport or Ogden Presbyterian Church in his memory.
