•Fissler, Janice V., age 81, of Friendsville, Pennsylvania died October 5, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Born September 27, 1929 in Rochester she was the daughter of the late Philip and Bernice (Schroeder) Tompkins. Her husband, William Henry Fissler, predeceased her in 1962. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Francis Shadduck of Friendsville, Pennsylvania; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Ruth Fissler of Fallsburg, Kentucky, Paul and Susan Kimball of Brockport, William and Lorraine Fissler of Durham, North Carolina, Robert and Kathryn Fissler of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, Richard and Jean Fissler of Silvara, Pennsylvania, Andrew and Wendy Fissler of Camptown, Pennsylvania; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, June Coleman of Brockport, Sandra and William Jones of LeRoy, Beth Ann and James Rutledge of Conyers, Georgia; sister-in-law, Marietta Miller of Candor, New York; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Boots. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John Miller and a granddaughter, Valerie Fissler.

BROCKPORT

•Burley, Herbert D., on October 4, 2010 at the age of 81. Predeceased by four brothers and two sisters-in-law. He is survived by his sister Emma Weader; son Herb Burley; daughter Stacey Cook; grandchildren Whitney Cook, William Collins and Brandon Burley; great grandchildren Julie Woodward, Dereck Woodward and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held October 9 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment, Garland Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hildebrandt Hospice, 2652 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester 14626 in his memory.


•Jennejohn, Elizabeth, S., On September 29, 2010. She is predeceased by daughter, Karen Swift. Survived by her son, Kevin (Meg); five grandchildren, Chris (Chaley), Denise, Jason (Ellen), Daniel M. Swift and Heather Jennejohn; five great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Michael Swift; several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said October 4 at the Church of the Nativity, Brockport. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Brockport Ambulance Corps in his memory.


•McCormick, Mildred W. “Millie,” October 4, 2010 at age 91. Survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Bill Sweeting of Brockport and her loving son and daughter-in-law, John and Cynthia McCormick of Medina; grandchildren and their spouses, David and Lisa Sweeting and Susie and Bill Armstrong, all of Atlanta, Georgia and Scott and Rebecca McCormick of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Max Sweeting, Ainslie, Liam and Aiden Armstrong, all of Atlanta; her devoted sister, Dr. Audrey Klick of North Chili; nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Wilbur “Buck” McCormick, her son, James W. McCormick and her granddaughter, Katie Sweeting. She was devoted to teaching children at West Irondequoit and Brockport Central Schools. Millie was an active member of the Brockport United Methodist Church, SUNY Brockport Alumni Association, Western Monroe Historical Society and Lakeside Twig Association.

A Memorial Celebration of Millie’s Life was held October 9 at the Brockport United Methodist Church. Interment at Lake View Cemetery in Brockport will be private. •Napoleon, Johanna, On October 1, 2010. Born on March 9, 1949, she was predeceased by her mother, Irene Haight; father, Quindy Napoleon; brother, Jim Napoleon; and sister, Sara Hedge (Haight). She is survived by her daughters, Nicole Napoleon (Jeremy Yargeau), Heidi Napoleon (Zach Drake); grandchildren Alexis, Vanessa, Audrianna; brothers, Joseph (Nancy), David (Mary) and Don Haight; sisters-in-law, Darla Napoleon and Fran Griffin; special friends, Greg and Marilyn Day, Dick O’Keefe; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services were held October 5 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family.


•Sorce, Jenny (Joan), On October 1, 2010 at age of 81. Predeceased by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her brother, Sebastian Sorce (Beverly); sister, Martha Sorce; sister-in-law, Dorothy Sorce; nieces, Sharon, Karen and Joanne; nephews, Michael, Anthony, John; and many great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said October 5 at the Nativity Church BVM, Brockport. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Lifetime Care Hospice or the Sweden Senior Center in her memory.

•Lloyd, Douglas S., September 30, 2010. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan; six children, Michael (Charlene) Lloyd, Mark Lloyd, Mary Jo (Alexander) LaVilla, Martha (Barry) Nasca, Catherine (Kenneth) Egan, Elizabeth (David) Corcoran; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Norma A. Dentinger and Julie Lloyd.

A Funeral Mass was said October 2 at St. Pius The Tenth Church, Chili. Interment, St. Vincent Cemetery, Churchville.

•Leverenz, Daisy B., October 3, 2010. Predeceased by her husband, Elmer Leverenz, 2000. She is survived by her children, David (Pamela) Leverenz, Carol (David) Sehm, Linda (Michael) Joy, Laurel (Kevin) Baxter and Diane (George) Scheerer; sister-in-law, Mabel Gray; brothers-in-law, Milton Leverenz and John Owens; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends; her devoted companion, “Katie.”

•DeLano, Eric J., Sr., On September 28, 2010. He is survived by his wife Vicki; his children, Eric Jr., Jerome, John (Amanda), Christopher (Nicole), Shawn, and Nicholas; eight grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Brenda); two sisters, Elizabeth DeLano and Shelley Mitchell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

•Harvey, Beverley M., On September 30, 2010. She is survived by her husband Jack; three daughters, Kathleen (Wade) Caffery, Andrea (Erik) Harrington, Karen (Gaylen) Mulloy; step-children, Jon (Jordan) Harvey, Dawn (Richard) Swanger; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Burrnita (Tom) Ewing, Sabra (Ted) Lohnes and several nieces and nephews.

•Nowicki, Florence P., Age 87, died October 2, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley; brothers Leonard and Walter Poprawski and sister Lottie McDonald. She is survived by her brother, Benjamin (Regina) Poprawski; daughter, Charlene (James) Urquhart; grandson, Douglas (Patricia) Urquhart; great-grandsons, Bryan and Paul Urquhart; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.

PARMA

•Scarfone, Frank A., October 4, 2010. Predeceased by his brother, Julius; sister, Pauline and son-in-law James Brunshidle. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Lena H. (Mendola) Scarfone; children Rochelle Brunshidle, Joe Scarfone and Paula (Tom) Ramsay; grandchildren Nick, Jason and Alex; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Frank was a WWII veteran, retired from Mixing Equipment Company, member of the Charles Settlement House & active in the Dutchtown Neighborhood Association. He was also active in politics, serving on the Parma Planning Board and a Republican Party Town Leader for 20 years

Funeral Services were held October 7 at St. Leo Church, Hilton. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery.


SPENCERPORT

•Gillette, Ruth (Williams), September 5, 2010, age 92 in Ft. Myers, Florida. Predeceased by her husband, Gorton; foster daughter, Arleen Lawson; granddaughter, Alicia Gillette; and special friend, Alvin McMann. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Lee (Gene) Sokol; son, James (Patti) Gillette; sister, Joyce Howie; granddaughters, Linda Hackler, Brenda LaCross, Christine Maher and grandson James Gillette Jr.; loved and cherished by seven great-grandchildren; also survived by her niece, Erynn Benjamin; nephew Gordon Howie. Ruth was a member of the Spencerport United Methodist Church for over 50 years and belonged to Etolian Chapter #308 O.E.S.

A Memorial Service was held October 9 at Spencerport United Methodist Church. Private interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Bell Tower Restoration Fund of her church in her memory.


•Gleffe, Eleanor, S., October 1, 2010 at age 83. Descendant of the Stewart family of Scotland. Formerly lived in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Predeceased by her son, James Howard Gleffe and brother, John Gorden Rimmer. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Howard; daughters, Pamela (Ralph) Sadler of Florida, Patricia (Mark) Wilde of North Carolina; son, John (Connie) Gleffe of Washington; sister-in-law, Ruth Rimmer of Pennsylvania; niece, Melissa Hayward; nephew, John Rimmer Jr.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several cousins.

A Memorial Service was held October 6 at the United Methodist Church of North Chili. Private interment.


•Hugh, Harry W., Died October 1, 2010 at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Charlotte Hugh; his son, Gordon Hugh of Phoenix, Arizona; cousin, Maryann Hauck and his family in Germany.
