AREA

•Charcholla, John David, of Belleview, Florida, age 86, died September 29, 2009 at Oakhurst Rehab Center in Ocala, Florida. He was the son of John and Gertrude (Alexander) Charcholla. John is survived by his wife Gail; brother Rob Roy (Nancy) Charcholla; daughters, Cheryl (Chris) Scholand, Jacqueline Rohrbaugh, Jamie (Jay) Hill; stepdaughters, Jeanette (Michael) Deines, Jacqueline Moore; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. John taught physical education at Spencerport Central School where he coached many sports. He officiated at the high school and college levels, and held office in national associations of soccer, basketball and baseball. John served his country in the United States Marines Corps during WWII and was recalled during the Korean War.

A Memorial Service was held October 8 in Belleview, Florida. Interment in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida on October 9. Donations can be made to Special Olympics of Marion, c/o Lynn Brantly, 9851 NE 29th Terrace, Anthony, Florida 32617 in his memory.


HAMLIN

•Wolck, Kathleen A., On October 3, 2009, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Scott; her children, Lauren and Jason; her brothers, William (Leanne) Evans, Gary “Blue” Buholtz, Jeffery (Debbie) White, Kevin White, David White; brothers-in-law, James, Mark (Cindy), Matt (Amanda) Wolck; sister-in-law, Denise (Chuck) Engert; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held October 7 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment, Garland Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Lakeside Memorial Hospital, or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer charity in her memory.


HOLLEY

•Serra, Charles H., age 73, died October 1, 2009. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years, Betty Hanselman Serra; his children, Joseph Serra and his fiance Angelia Cormier of Irondequoit; Patty Serra Mayberry and her husband David of Lake Placid, Reuben Kernan of Kendall, and Nathan Kernan of Kendall; his grandchildren Henry and Samuel Mayberry, Jade Cormier and Tia Hoffarth; his sister Peggy (Serra) Nelson and her husband Bruce; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Serra, mother Dortha (Snyder) Serra and his brother, Donald Serra.

A private gathering was held to celebrate his life that exemplified kindness, strength, humor and courage. Contributions in his memory can be made to Hospice of Orleans County or Caringbridge.com.


SPENCERPORT

•Gimeli, Ignazio “Jimmy,” Survived by his wife, Francesca; children, Paolo Gimeli, Agatha (Ed) Hanna, Sebastiano (Dawn) Gimeli; five grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; two brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral Mass was said October 6 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Spencerport. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.


•Richards, Michael Anthony, October 2, 2009, age 48, surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his mother, Carmela Richards. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of eight years, Kimberly Richards (Chalmers); father, Albert Richards; sons, Joshua and Jeremiah; daughters, Jessica, Rebekah, Rachel and Chance; sister, Cheryl (David) Rivera; brother, Joseph Richards; nieces and nephews, Renata Rivera, Josh, Ryan, Emily, Elijah, Makenna, Ethan, Eliana, Levi, Daniel, Brooke and Brenna Chalmers; special friend, Rob Ryan; and many loving members of his church family.

Funeral Services were held October 10 at Bethel Christian Fellowship, Rochester. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery, Brockport. Donations can be made to Henrietta Christian Fellowship, 1085 Middle Road, Rush, NY 14543 in his memory.


•Vandertang, Adrian, September 16, 2009. Adrian is predeceased by his son Thomas Vandertang. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nellie (Smith) Vandertang; children, Judy (Gary) Gartz, William (Alison) Vandertang; daughter-in-law Sheila (Dave) Wohlers; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister Wilhelmina Bohrer; sister-in-law Gladys Stenzel; dog Shelby.

Adrian was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Hump Pilots Association and the Ferris Goodridge Legion Post #330. He was the owner of the Village Shoe Store, a life member of the Ogden Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Lions Club of Spencerport.

Funeral Services were held September 19 at Ogden Presbyterian Church, Spencerport. Interment, Fairfield Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Lions Club of Spencerport or Ogden Presbyterian Church in his memory.
