AREA

•Tyner, Vernon A., age 92, of Avoca, New York, died October 7, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. A 1934 graduate of Hilton High School, he was a long-time resident of Parma Center. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Margie; cherished children, Priscilla Beeman, Tharan (Ralph) DeLeo, Randall (Dianne) Tyner and David (Giselle) Tyner; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Occupation of Japan.

Interment with military honors took place October 10 in Avoca.


BROCKPORT

•Murphy, Betty J., On October 13, 2009. She is survived by her children Ann Galbo, David (Marie) Murphy, Bill (Gina) Murphy; six grandchildren, Matthew, Patrick, James, Tinsley, Paige, Joseph; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held October 16 at the Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice in her memory.


•Weaver, Arlene R. “Dolly,” of Spring Hill, Florida, on October 4, 2009 at age 86. Born in Brockport, NY Arlene was predeceased by her husband, Charles, son Dean (Sue) and brother James (Nancy) Armstrong. Survived by sons, Donald (Linda), Gary (Karen); several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Interment October 12 in Spring Hill, Florida.


BYRON

McQueen, Leon C., age 87, October 14, 2009. Predeceased by his wife, Carole. He is survived by his children Patrick McQueen, Susanne Dwyer and Cheryl McQueen; grandchildren, Michele (Tim) Kruger, Shawn (Holly) Wright, Deborah and Sarah Dwyer and four great-grandchildren James, Samantha, Norman and Aaron. Leon was retired from Domine Builders Supply Corp. and served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy.

Funeral Services were held October 16 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home Inc., Hilton. Interment with military honors at Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to The American Legion in his memory.


CHURCHVILLE

•Dermody, Michele H., October 13, 2009 at age 61. She was predeceased by her father Glenn Banker and her mother Elizabeth Sahrle. Michele is survived by her husband of 27 years, James D. Dermody; her siblings, Phyllis (Lewis) Stewart, Richard (Marilyn) Banker, Frederick (Jean) Sahrle and Beth (Tom Kankoski) Sahrle; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated October 17 at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Churchville. Interment, St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Churchville Fire Department or American Cancer Society in her memory.


CLARKSON

•Kline, Bernard M. “Bernie,” Age 86, on October 9, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Josephine (Ciranni); their children, Raymond (Gloria) Kline, Thomas (Sue) Kline, Kathryn (Jim) Jordan; brothers, Leo Kline, Bill (Cecilia) Kline; sisters Martha (Floyd) Yeckley, Theresa (Don) Cunningham; grandchildren, Steve, Shelly, Jeff, Debra, Doug, Jenny; great-grandchildren, Brock, Zack, Bailey, Matt, Nick, Cameron and Ashlee. He was predeceased by his brother, Bob. Bernie was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired General Foreman for Monroe County.

Funeral Services were held October 12 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Hamlin. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery. Donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 3747 Brick Schoolhouse Road, Hamlin, NY 14464 in his memory.


HAMLIN

•Fuhry, Donald E., October 8, 2009. He is survived by wife, Shirley; son, Wayne (Heather); daughters, Bonny (John) Cosgrove and Kimberly (Hawkeye) Pape; and sister-in-law, Jean Mattice; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at the Webster Funeral Home, Brockport on October 17.


HILTON

•Calaci, John V. Sr., October 6, 2009 after a lengthy illness at age 53. Predeceased by his father, Vincenzo “Jimmy” Calaci; step-father, Walter Rudy. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Linda A. Fulford Calaci; children, John V. Jr. (Heather), Christina N., James R.; beloved grandsons, Anthony, Joshua and Zachary; mother, Frances Rudy; sisters, Joanne Gloss, Donna (Joe) Tudisco, Regina Rudy, Lisa Miller, Lorie Rudy; brother-in-law, James Fulford; step-sisters, step-brothers; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John was a past member of the Marine Volunteer Fire Department.

A Funeral Mass was said October 10 at St. Theodore’s Church, Gates. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to NTAF, 150 North Radnor Chester Road, Suite F-120, Radnor, Pennsylvania 19087 in his memory.


•Lissow, Leocadia “Kay,” October 6, 2009, age 96. Predeceased by her husband, J. Elmer Lissow, and her son, Thomas Lissow. Survived by her children, Charles (Patricia) Lissow, Patricia (Larry) Boyd, David Lissow and Alice Lissow (John Fitzner); her sisters, Virginia Muszak and Bernice Marianetti; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Kay was a Life Member of Hilton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

A Funeral Mass was said October 10 at St. Leo Church, Hilton. Interment, St. John’s Cemetery, Spencerport. Contributions can be made to the Hilton Fire Department or to a charity of one’s choice in her memory.


HOLLEY

•Parmley, Ruben “Jimmy,” 76, died October 11, 2009 at Lakeside Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Priscilla; six children, Wendie (Dale) Hargrave of Holley, Catherine Parmley of Kentucky, Kimberly Dolby of Indiana, Robert (Maureen) Parmley of New Jersey, Darlene “Mickey” Maciunski of New Jersey, Susan (Jack) Powell of South Carolina; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lou, Flossie, Lois, Gladys, Helen, Dot; nieces and nephews. He served in the US Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant and retired after 20 years. Jimmy also served during Vietnam where he did helicopter rescue. He was an avid sportsman and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brockport.

Funeral Services with military honors were held October 15 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.


KENDALL

•Millard, Richard E. Sr., October 12, 2009. He is survived by his wife Carolyn; his children, Richard Jr., Barbara (Edward Slervenski) Barthel, Wendy (Daren) Lang, Brian (Rose Patterson) Millard; six grandchildren Angela (Chuck Kelly) Barthel, Jessica and Jason Scozzafava, Heather (Tony Tardibone) Kuepper, Deserae and Andrew Lang; three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Conner and Payton; several nieces and nephews.

•Meldrim, Deobrah Ann (Baxter), October 8, 2009, at age 55. She was predeceased by her father, Anson Baxter. She is survived by her mother, Barbara (Richardson) Baxter; son, David Meldrim; daughters, Catherine Luzadder, Sara Furdui, Diane, Grace and Chloe Meldrim; grandchildren, Arielle, Rachel and Sienna Luzadder, Anna and Luka Furdui; sisters, Sara Richardson, Martha Gardner, Susan Bogart, Rebecca Brenno and Jane Snell. She was a member of the Rochester Branch of the American World Adoption Association Support Group.

SPENCERPORT

•Holm, Elizabeth M., October 9, 2009, at age 84. Predeceased by her husband, Helmar “Hank” Holm; brother William Enquist. She is survived by her children, Barbara (Christian) Ramiller of California, Jennifer Brongo (Mike Downey), David (Carrie) Holm of California; grandchildren, Vaughn and Allison Ramiller, Jeremy (Graziella) Brongo, Michael Brongo, Cienna Holm; sister-in-law, Jane Enquist; many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a retired Registered Nurse.

A Memorial Service was held October 12 at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Gates. Private interment. Donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester 14620 in her memory.


•Lehner, Edith M., October 6, 2009 at age 74. She was predeceased by her parents, Adolf and Julie Kumpfel; brothers, Reinhart and Wence Kumpfel; Edith is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years and best friend Alfred Lehner. She is survived by her children, Linda (Jeff) Neal, Eric (Maria Carvalho) Lehner; her grandchildren, Zachary and Lauren Neal, Stephanie Carvalho and Jacqueline Carvalho Lehner; siblings, Leni Hammerl, Hans and Bernhard Kumpfel and Nora Bauer. Edith was a proud member of Der Verein der Donaudeutschen and the Germania Singers.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated October 10 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Spencerport. Interment, St. John’s Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
