ALBION

•Wadhams, William W., age 85, died October 9, 2008 at Lakeside Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Mr. Wadhams had served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Holley American Legion Jewell Buckman Post #529 and had retired from Eastman Kodak. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie Phelps Wadhams; daughters Regina Vanausdall, Patricia Egami; son William M.; grandson Jon-David Bartlett; son-in-law Steve McClary; sister Edna Kellogg; brothers George, Floyd, Leon, Benjamin. He is survived by his daughters Judith (Floyd Holland) McQuire of Hamlin, Claire Bartlett, Sandra Walter, Sharon Daniels all of Albion, Janette McClary of Carlton; sons Michael (Dora) of Jacksonville, Florida, Edward of Brockport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Florence Weed of Kendall, Lillian Knapp of Albion, Claire Graham of Albion, Edna Wadhams of Holley, Lois Wadhams of North Carolina; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services were held October 15 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Albion. Burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Jon-David Bartlett Scholarship Fund, Albion Central School District Office, 324 East Avenue, Albion, NY 14411 or the organization of one's choice in his memory.


BERGEN

•Croucber, Doris (Bridgeman), died October 12, at age 83. She is the mother of Edward Croucher, of Bergen and the late William Croucher and Patricia Pfenniger.

Funeral Services were held October 15 at the H.E. Turner Funeral Home, Bergen. Contributions can be made to the family in her memory.


BROCKPORT

•Berry, Elinor R., October 8, 2008, age 90. Predeceased by her husband, Raymond, 1994. Survived by her sons, Robert (Cecilia) and Allan (Jean) Berry; her sister, Ellen Willis; grandchildren, Lynn (David) Ryder, Jeff (Michelle), Jason, Jeni, Ryan (Pavla) Berry, Tuan (Lindsey), Yasmin (Brian) Beers and Anne (Fred) Tella; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.

A Memorial Service was held October 12 at the First Baptist Church of Brockport. Private Interment, Scott Valley Cemetery, Scott, Pennsylvania. Contributions can be made to the church memorial fund in her memory.


•Greene, Helen M., On October 7, 2008, at age 94, following a lengthy illness. Formerly of Batavia. Wife of the late Ralph Greene; mother of Patricia (John) Bush of Brockport; grandmother of Lorie (Michael) Henry and Kevin and Donna; great-grandmother of Stephanie (Christopher) Mros, Scott and Michelle Henry; sister-in-law of Margaret Greene and Marian Greene; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Sister of the late Anna Hayes, Mary Baudanza, Stephen, Charles and Joseph Mordell. She worked for 10 years at former St. Jerome Hospital and retired after working 20 years at the Batavia VAMC.

A Funeral Mass was said October 14 at Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Brockport. Contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380 or to a charity of one's choice in her memory.


•Kowalski, Edgar, On October 8, 2008. Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Alma Kowalski, sister Valeska Kowalski and brother Richard Kowalski. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Clara Cannici Kowalski; children Mark (Mary) of Derby, New York, Kurt, Martha "Marti" and Jeffrey Kowalski; three granddaughters, Victoria Schleede, Loren and Ashley Kowalski; two grandsons, Ryan and Bradley Kowalski of Texas; brother Leo (Faith) Kowalski of Lockport; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is a lifetime member of the Western NY Morgan Owners Car Club and several other car clubs.

Friends may call Saturday, November 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., 340 West Avenue, Brockport, where a Memorial Service will follow calling hours. •Otto, Ralph W., October 12, 2008 at age 86. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Otto and sons, Jimmy and Wayne Otto. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Clarence) Stratton and son, Roger (Liza) Otto; his grandchildren, Wendy (Jim) Fountaine, Kimberly Piddington, Sherry Stratton, Channon (Todd Dobson) Stratton, Jessica Dorschel, Catherine and Leah Otto; great-grandchildren, Torrie and Brittnie Piddington, Tyler Stratton, Bryce, Angel and Jimmy Fountaine. Ralph was a member of the Brockport Elks Club for over 30 years. Please remember Ralph when you hear one of his clocks chime.

•Becker, Florence M. (Wendelgass), October 11, 2008 at age 85. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George W. Becker; her sons David Becker, Douglas Becker Sr., Daniel (Nancy Foote) Becker and Bruce (Lin) Becker; grandchildren Douglas (Holly) Becker Jr., Jessica and Andrew Becker, Kathy (Chip) Rudd and Suzie Becker; three great-grandsons Dawson, Gage and Dean; daughter-in-law Donna Becker; sisters-in-law Helen Kraft and Virginia Wendelgass; several nieces and nephews.

•Filowick, George Jr. "Buddy," October 10, 2008, at age 51, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his parents George and Eleanor Filowick Sr.; sisters, Cathy Barnes, Rita Filowick and Judy Manley; nephews, Kris and Amy Stasiw, JJ Stasiw and Brett Stasiw; great-nieces, Megan and Hailey Clark; close friend Tom Barnes; his dear pet Benjie and many special friends. Buddy's first love was farming. He established Budvale Farms at the age of 13. He would still be a farmer today if not for health issues. In 1989 he exchanged farming for building and created Budvale Construction.

•Way, Alfred H., October 7, 2008 at age 94. He was predeceased by his wives, Jean (Stewart) Way, Ona (Fraize) Way and his loving companion, Adelaide Richardson. He is survived by his daughters, Sharyl (Joseph) Krol of New Hampshire and Marjory (David) Voke of Spencerport; his stepdaughter, Bonnie (John) Brodie of Spencerport; grandchildren, Shawna (Matthew) Poisson, Christine (Scott) Davis, Kevin Voke, Russell (Deborah) Brodie and Robert (Gretchen) Brodie; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Al was owner operator, with his brother Harold, of Wayside Farms and he served on the Town of Ogden Zoning Board for 39 years.

A Memorial Service was held October 11 at Union Congregational UCC, Churchville. Contributions can be made to Union Congregational UCC, Lakeside Beikirch Care Center or to Lifetime Care Hospice in his memory.


HILTON

•Floyd, Robert A., October 15, 2008, age 88. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth; his sons, Richard (Robin), Ronald and Robert Floyd; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Harlan Cooper. He was predeceased by his sister, Charlotte Cooper and his daughter-in-law, Karen Floyd. Bob was a Life Member of Hilton Fire Department.

A Memorial Service was held October 18 at the Hilton Baptist Church. Private interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hilton Baptist Church Memorial Fund or Hilton Fire Department in his memory.


•Surridge, June (Henry), October 8, 2008 at age 89. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Elmore Surridge and sister, Eunice Henry Johnson. Survived by niece, Linda Cahill; mother of Christopher and Kimberly; great-great-nephew, Noah William Schultz; niece, Sandra (Charlie) Griocouage; nephews, George (Beverly) Surridge, Elmore (Ronie) Surridge, William (Janet) Surridge and great-great-nephew, Collin Surridge; god child, Darrell Uetz; cousin, Stirling Muck (Jean) of Hamburg. June was a 32 year retiree from Eastman Kodak and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

•Kircher, Joseph L., October 9, 2008. Predeceased by his wife, Mary. Survived by his dear friend, Bernadine Smith and many other friends. Joe was a retiree of Kodak.

•Trotta, Rose Marie (Gionta), October 7, 2008. Predeceased by her husband, Alfred, son Alfred, brother Frank and sister Dorothy. She will be sadly missed by her loving children, Kathy Trotta, Joan (Jeff) Cline, Elaine (Mike) Wollschleger, Paula (John) Collins, Stephen (Jonie) Trotta, Mary Jo (Kevin) Spinosa; grandchildren Mike, Justin (April) Trotta, Jennifer, Jill Bauersmith, Diana (Peter) Hendrick, Scott (Christie), Alicia Wollschleger, Shaun, Erin, Kaitlyn Collins, Steve Jr., Gina, Christina Trotta, Sam, Phil, Nick, Spinosa, and Rocco; great-grandchildren Dylan Hendrick and Tyler Wollschleger; brothers, Sylvester (Antoinette) Gionta, Sam (Niki) Gionta and Vincent (Sandy) Gionta; sister-in-law, Kay Gionta; brother-in-law, Tony Federico; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Special thanks to Chris Doughty for the loving care she gave to Rose Marie. She was a long time employee of Rochester Colonial Manufacturing for 34 years.

SPENCERPORT

•Leiston, Thelma A., (Russ), October 12, 2008 at age 88. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Richard E. Leiston; her son, Lawrence and her granddaughter, Samantha Edinger. She is survived by her son, Robert (Carolyn) Leiston of West Virginia; daughter-in-law, Patricia A. Leiston; her grandchildren, Julie (Jon) Belanger, Michael (Sandora) Leiston and Romney Gordon; brother, William (Nancy) Russ; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services and interment will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1650 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 in honor of her son Lawrence.
