AREA

•McCombs, Roberts J., in Boca Raton, Florida, age 81, died December 11, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Sharon and seven children, Reneé McKeon, Robin (Timothy) Lawler, Mary (Dr. Joseph) Carbone, Kelly McCombs, Reneé (Rob Kark), Jacqueline (Deb Pagani) and Michael Ferrari; eleven grandchildren, Robert, Kristen, Adam, Michael, Lauren, Connor, Roma, Ryan, Cassidy, Abbott and Tai. He is also survived by his first wife, Nancy McCombs. Bob was a long time resident and business owner in Rochester, including Streb's Steak House, prior to moving to Florida.

A Memorial Mass was said December 17 at Christ the King Church, Irondequoit.


•Prevost, Gary, age 59, of Rogers, Arkansas, died December 11, 2008. He was born November 1, 1949 in Rochester, to Harwood and Rita Prevost. Survivors include his wife Pam Prevost; son Matt Ward of Holdenville, Oklahoma; his parents Harwood and Rita Prevost of Holley; one brother Daryl Prevost and wife Susan of Rochester; nephews, Brandon and Matthew Prevost, also of Rochester; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Cecil and Earlene Gibbs of Springdale, John and Rhonda Meredith of Bentonville, Roger and Terry Meredith of Cave Springs, Greg and Janice Bailey of Bella Vista, Paul Meredith of Bells Vista, Ernie and Debbie Meredith of Gentry; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and was employed by Assembled Products in Rogers.

Funeral Services were held December 15 at First Baptist Church, Cave Springs, Arkansas. Burial in Phillips Cemetery. Donations can be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72762 in his memory.


BERGEN

•Beyer, Bernard J., December 16, 2008, age 92. Survived by his wife, Ruth M. Beyer of Bergen; two daughters Kathleen (Richard) Tompkins of Hatboro, Pennsylvania and Barbara Johnston of Bergen; a brother, Robert (Helen) Beyer of Byron; a sister, Eunice Miner of Pavilion; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said December 20 at St. Brigid's Church, Bergen. Burial in St. Brigid's Cemetery. Contributions can be made to New York State Veterans Home, Att: Activities Fund, 220 Richmond Avenue, Batavia 14020 or to the Bergen Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 428, Bergen 14416 in his memory.


BROCKPORT

•Day, Dennis Wayne, of Sweet Home, Oregon: born March 24, 1940 in Rochester to Robert Donald Day and Shirley V. McBride, died December 11, 2008. He grew up in Brockport. He was predeceased by father, Robert Donald Day and sister, Betty Jane Day. He is survived by his sons, Gregory and Eric Day of New York and Anthony and Christopher Day of Oregon. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley V. McBride; brothers, James Day and Robert Day; and sisters, Debra Laney, Lori Bryant, Pamela DiSanto of New York and sister Carol Purvee of California.

A Memorial Service was held December 20 at Nativity BVM Church, Brockport.


•Derby, Orlo L., On December 13, 2008 at the age of 97. Predeceased by his wives Heidi and Margaret. Survived by his loving wife Verdell; daughter Deborah Czepiel; granddaughters Heidi Zufelt and Christine Essel; and four great-grandchildren. Dr. Derby was a professor at SUNY Brockport and a veteran of WWII.

Funeral Services were held December 17 at St. Luke's Church, Brockport. Spring interment, Lake View Cemetery. Contributions can be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in his memory.


•La Due, Michael, On December 8, 2008, at the age of 41. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Margaret La Due; sister Kim (Steven) Kimball; brother Mark (Suzanne); nieces Chelsey and Jessica Kimball and Alyssa and Jenna La Due; nephew, Jeff Darrow; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral Services were held December 14 at Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment, private. Contributions can be made to Finger Lakes DDSO, Lifetime Assistance or the Mary Cariola Children's Center in his memory.


•Schleede, Lynn F., On December 14, 2008. He is survived by his wife Marilyn; children, Terry (Alison) of North Carolina, Brenda (Michael) Wikander of Arizona, Barbara (David) Wood of Lake Placid and Brian (Julie) of Conesus; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister Marian Quackenbush, and brother Glenn; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Linda and brothers Clifford, Carlton and Russel.

A Memorial Service was held December 19 at Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Lakeside Beikirch Care Center in his memory.


CHILI

•Andrews, Nancy W., December 6, 2008. She is predeceased by husband, Bernard (Andy) Andrews: infant grandson, Michael Peter Guild; brother, William Webb Jr.; and parents Edna and William R. Webb. She is survived by daughters, Nan Andrews Amish and Roberta (Peter) Guild; grandsons David (Jessica) and Daniel Guild; and great granddaughter, Sophia Guild; nephews and niece. A graduate of Wellesley College, Nancy was a retired translator for Xerox. Nancy was a longtime Brighton resident, who resided the past two years of her life in Chili with her daughter and son-in-law Roberta and Peter. She was past co-president of Genesee Dancers and an avid bridge player.

A Memorial Service was held December 13 at Anthony Funeral Chapel. Interment, White Haven Memorial Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.


CHURCHVILLE

•Nundy, Richard A., December 12, 2008, age 77. Formerly of Hilton. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vi Marie Nundy; his children, Randy (Jill) Nundy, Shari Newman, Crystal (David) Sawyer; four grand-sons, Kyle, Neil and Joel Newman and David Nundy; brother, Fred (Naomi) Nundy; his uncle, Evan (Mary) Smith; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services were held December 16 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Interment, Fairfield Cemetery, Spencerport. Contribu-tions can be made to Unity Foundation in his memory.


GREECE

•Romeo, Norma, December 11, 2008, age 78. Wife of Thomas for over 60 years; loving mother of Susan (Tony) Romeo-Patti, Judy (Luke) Bernier, Nancy (Keith) Leyendecker, Kimberly (Rich Feldman) Romeo and Lynn Campbell; devoted grandma of Alexander, Zacharie, Jenna, Abbey and Erin; several nieces, nephews and special neighbor Shirley.

A party to celebrate her life was held December 15.

•Weins, Veronica M., December 13, 2008. Predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Weins. She is survived by her children: Michael (Karen) Weins, Ronald (Priscilla) Weins, Joan (Jim) Keyes, Robert (Nancy) Weins and Sharon Weins; brother, Harold Neu; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

•LaPlante, Ernie T., Age 36, December 14, 2008. Survived by his parents Buckey and Barbara LaPlante; sisters Amy Shaffer of Milton, Pennsylvania, Nicole LaPlante of Albion; brother Frederick LaPlante of Holley; nieces Sheena Warren of Pennsylvania, Taylor LaPlante of Holley, Skylar and Hailey Lonnen of Albion; nephews Ernest LaPlante of Brockport, Hunter Lonnen of Albion; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held December 18 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Holley. Interment, St. Hubert's Cemetery, Star Lake, New York. Contributions can be made to the NIC Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital in his memory.

•Martin, Paul A., WA1NVP, Suddenly, December 13, 2008 at age 35. He was predeceased by his father, Donald Martin. He is survived by his wife Amanda (Finch) Martin and his daughter Chloe Ann; his mother Ann Martin of Greece; his sister Linda Roberts of Rutland, Vermont and her sons Charles and Robert Neumann; father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Diane Finch of Hamilton, New York; sister-in-law Rebecca (Mark) McFarland of Hamilton, New York; nieces, nephews. Paul was an employee of MKS Instruments.
