Veterans holiday gift program

Veterans who are out-patients of the Rochester Out-Patients Clinic, Westfall Road, will be greeted by unit members of the American Legion Auxiliary, and members from the 7th District, of which Monroe County is a part on Wednesday, November 15, for the Veterans Holiday Gift Program. There they will be escorted by these members to help them select Christmas gifts for their loved ones.

This program started last year in connection with the annual Holiday Gift program at the Canandaigua VA. That program for Veterans in that area will be November 19-21.

A room will be set aside with displays of the gifts from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 1 to 3 p.m. There the veterans will be able to choose gifts for their loved ones and those gifts will then be Christmas wrapped and mailed at no cost to the veteran. These gifts are purchased by Chairman Bonnie Sonneville, Ontario County and vice-chairman Sharon Arthur, Hillary Drive, Chili, with monies derived from the sale of the poppies to the public Memorial Day weekend.

Volunteers are needed for this endeavor. Contact Mary Masline, 865-5624.
