Reba M. Parker, longtime Spencerport resident

Reba M. Parker died Saturday, October 28, 2000 at the age of 91. Born February 19, 1909 in Ontario, Canada as Reba M. Clark, she came to the area as a young woman and shortly after met her husband, Erwin J. Parker. The couple had four children, Donald, Carl, Marilyn and Clark, and ran a farm together. Erwin, who died 12 years ago, was also a prominent local builder, who built many homes in the area as well as the Spencerport Village Plaza.

Married 60 years, Mrs. Parker was a good wife, mother and grandmother, recounted her daughter Marilyn Brown. She especially enjoyed doing handiwork, like crocheting dresses for her large collection of pincushion dolls. "She was happy to show her collection of dolls to anyone who was interested," said Brown. Mrs. Parker's sister, Jean Francis, who owns a doll museum in Ontario, would often send her new dolls to add to her collection.

Mrs. Parker also was a member of Ogden Presbyterian Church. She lived with her daughter on Vroom Road.

Mrs. Parker is predeceased by her husband, Erwin; her son, Donald E. Parker; and her brothers, Harvey and Earl Clark. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Brown of Spencerport; Carl R. Parker of Texas and Clark E. (Sara) Parker of Missouri; two sisters, Elsie Espie of Missouri and Jean Francis of Canada; daughter-in-law Joyce Parker of Geneseo; a family friend, Jay Christian; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held November 1 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., West Avenue, Spencerport. Contributions may be made to Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance or the Memorial Fund of Ogden Presbyterian Church in her memory.
