Female "Odd Couple" Hilton High School Senior Play

Hilton High School's Senior Play, "The Odd Couple," re-written by Neil Simon for the female side of roommate relations, will be presented Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m.; with a matinee on Sunday, November 12 at 2 p.m. in the Hilton High School auditorium, 400 East Avenue, Hilton.

Featuring Sarah Pearlman as Florence (the Walter Matthau character) and Priscilla Whipple as Olive (the Tony Randall/Jack Lemmon character), the comedy is directed by Lori McCoy and Steve Klafehn. Instead of the poker game in the original version, Simon rewrote the play with the two female roommates inviting 'the girls' over for an evening of trivial pursuit. Back are the Pigeon sisters as the Costazuela brothers played by Adam Donnelly and Sara Kilburn. "The Girls" are: Heather Hubble as Mickey; Mary Kogel as Renee; and Nikki Fovel as Vera.

"It works well when the characters change from male to female," Sarah Pearlman said. "My character (Walter Matthau) becomes less the messy and powerful one as the totally annoying one." "Olive (Tony Randall/Jack Lemmon), my character, is still a neat freak," Priscilla Whipple said, "but it brings out more female themes."

Tickets are $3 for students/senior citizens; $5 for adults. For ticket reservations, please call 392-1000 extension 2329. Tickets will be available at the door.
