Alzheimer's educational seminar planned

The Orleans County Office for the Aging Support Group is sponsoring an Alzheimer's Disease Seminar on Tuesday, November 21 at 7 p.m. at the County Administration Building (where Department of Motor Vehicles is located). Heidi Nikscher, Education and Training Coordinator for the Western New York Alzheimer's Association, will be the guest speaker. Ms. Nikscher recently attended the World Alzheimer's Congress 2000 in Washington, DC. She will provide an overview of information presented by scientists from throughout the world who are conducting major Alzheimer's research projects. There is also a new drug on the market to treat symptoms, and information on the drug will be provided.

The Orleans County Office for the Aging maintains an extensive library on Alzheimer's Disease and coping strategies. These will also be available at the seminar. For information, call Grace at 589-3191.
