Ogden Town Board approves 2001 budget

At its November 8 meeting, the Ogden Town Board approved a $6.2 million spending plan that will not affect property taxes. Up six percent from this year’s budget, the new plan calls for an increase in spending of about $400,000, mainly due to higher health insurance costs, highway equipment purchases and pay raises for town employees. Increased revenue is offsetting spending and keeping tax rates level. The town expects about $2.32 million in revenue next year, including an increase in Monroe County sales tax revenue. Currently, the rates are $3.62 per $1,000 assessed valuation in the village of Spencerport and $5.47 per $1,000 assessed valuation in the town. That means the homeowner with an average assessment of $108,000 has an annual tax bill of $390.96 in the village and $590.76 in the town.
