Town of Ogden website celebrates 4th anniversary

On October 26, 1996, the Town of Ogden officially registered the Internet domain www.ogdenny.com and began developing a site, first with just a few pages listing services offered by various town departments and later adding information. The site has grown to several hundred pages and now offers such diverse material as town board meeting minutes, the town budget, Town Code Book and much more. More than 6,000 people visit the site on a monthly basis. Each town department has its own section. Those include Supervisor - town budget and recent news; Town Clerk - town board minutes, licenses, taxes, budget, town codes; Assessor - STAR Program; Building - public notices, agendas and minutes for various boards such as Zoning, Conservation and Planning; fees and permit information; Police - history and police blotter; Recreation - program schedules, sports, parks; Highway - brush pickup, highway maintenance information; Library - new materials, program schedules, reading lists and other information.

In addition to town department information, the site also provides community and business information. Organizations and groups in Ogden can contact the webmanager, Patty Uttaro (352-2141 or uttaro@ogdenny.com), with information about upcoming events and have it posted on the site.

Links to community group websites such as churches, clubs, schools, and sports teams as well as links to local businesses and the Spencerport Fire Department are also included. In addition, there's a page about the Spencerport Chamber of Commerce, including information on their high school scholarship program and Youth Hall of Fame. The web site address is http://www.ogdenny.com.
