BHS students will attend Lakeside's annual gala

Eight students from Brockport High School, chosen by BHS faculty and staff, have been invited to be part of the Lakeside Health System's Annual Gala Dinner this year.

The students, in grades 10 through 12, who will be attending the reception with John Major, the former prime minister of Great Britain are: Andy Kurchhoff, Tom Linhart, Jennifer Weir, Missy Hale and Lindsey Edwards. Students attending the dinner are: Nicole Rister, Jessica Haas and Meghan Tonery. Teachers Ann Frey, Neil Czerniak and Dean of Students Mike Myers will also attend.

"This is a great opportunity for the students to be exposed to a person with John Major's credentials," Myers said.

Several Brockport students were invited to attend the Gala Dinner when former President Gerald Ford was the guest several years ago. Each year Lakeside tries to involve students from various towns and institutions in Lakeside's service area. Last year, members of SUNY Brockport's ROTC helped welcome General Norman Schwartzkopf. Tickets for the annual dinner are still available. For more information call Lakeside Foundation at 395-6049.
