C-C board appoints Human and Community Relations director

The Churchville-Chili Board of Education appointed Scott Massie to the position of Director of Human and Community Relations at its October 24 meeting. Massie, currently an assistant principal at C-C High School, assumed his new duties November 1.

The position of Director of Human and Community Relations is a result of reorganization due to the retirement in August of Kathy Fromel, Director of Research and Evaluation. In this position, Massie will be responsible for community information and outreach programs and initiatives and will also assist with personnel functions. He will coordinate and provide staff development for support staff and assist with labor relations as well as recruitment, hiring and retention. He will also coordinate and analyze student performance and coordinate the K-12 School-to-Career program.

"Scott Massie is a great leader," says High School Principal Vendla Clark. "He has been instrumental in implementing the New York state learning standards at the high school. He has also played a key role in the development, implementation and success of Project Lead The Way, our pre-engineering program."

Massie has been assistant principal at the high school for the past two years. He was previously an administrator in the Geneva City School District.
