Community members invited to join
Spencerport schools' budget advisory committee

As part of the 2001-02 budget process, the Spencerport Board of Education is again establishing a Budget Advisory Committee. The board and Superintendent of Schools are looking for six district residents who are willing to serve on this committee as members at large.

The 23-member Budget Advisory Committee will consist of parents, representing each school and the Parent Association Council, teachers, school administrators, students, support staff and community members at large. The Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant Superintendents and board members will serve as ad hoc (non-voting) members.

This committee will review the budget developed by the administration and offer additions, deletions and modifications to their proposals. As part of this task, they will review district resource priorities. The board will receive these recommendations when they receive each budget section during the budget development process.

The Budget Advisory Committee will begin meeting in January and is expected to meet in the evening twice a month through March.

Those interested in serving on this committee are asked to call Fred Seiler, Assistant Superintendent for Business, at 349-5111 no later than Thursday, December 7. A copy of the 2001-02 budget calendar is available from Fred Seiler, 71 Lyell Avenue, Spencerport 14559 or by calling him. Reading copies of the budget calendar are available in the Ogden and Gates public libraries.
