Genagon promoted to Fifth Degree Black Belt

Sensei Tammy Genagon was promoted recently to Go-Dan (fifth degree black belt) in Isshin Ryu Karate by Shihan Cyndy Jones on behalf of Master Kichiro Shimabuku. Sensei Genagon has been training since 1987 as part of the Gillam Grant Collamer-Jones Karate program in Bergen. Genagon also teaches karate and manages the school's tournament team. As part of her test, Genagon performed a full contact weapons demonstration for Chie Fa Tonfa Kata.

At the same Black Test, Sensei Katy Hyde, Sensei Chuck Lehmann and Sensei Ron Cok were promoted to
San-Dan (third degree black belt). Sensei John Dorr was promoted to
Ni-Dan (second degree black belt).

New classes offered in the Gillam Grant karate program for ages 5
and up start Saturday, December 16.
