The Lake Ontario Parrot Head Club recently donated a tree, decorations and their time to help make the holidays brighter for residents, patients and employees at Lakeside Health System.

The group, a nonprofit community organization dedicated to community charities and environmental concerns, contacted Lakeside and made the offer of the tree and its trimmings.

“Community service events are what we do,” Lake Ontario Parrot Head Club President Coleen Dwyer said. “We feel it’s important to help out our local organizations.”

Mickey Rodak, director of activities at Lakeside’s Beikirch Care Center, said the tree trimming event was a hit with residents and their families.

“We had about 50 people turn out for the decorating and the party afterward,” Rodak said. “We truly, truly thank this group for their donation.”
