Rachael N. Brown received the Joseph Sarto Student of the Month Award from St. Piux X School for exemplary attitude and behavior.

Rachael is the daughter of Krissy and Steve Brown of Ogden.


The following students have been named to the dean's list at Johnson and Wales University: Sarah Penepent of Bergen, a major in culinary arts, and Monisa Fisher of Spencerport, a baking and pastry arts major.


Spencerport resident Elizabeth Brown was inducted into the Marietta College circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, America's leadership honorary, on December 10. A junior at Marietta College, Brown is the daughter of Steven and Donna Brown of Spencerport. Omicron Delta Kappa recognizes achievement in scholarship, athletics, campus and community service, social and religious activities, campus government, journalism, speech, mass media, and the creative and performing arts. Members must be in the upper 35 percent in scholarship of the college and must show leadership in the above areas.


Muhammad Shakil Quayes, of Spencerport, has recently completed a Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Army Pvt. Michael E. Brice has graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Missouri. During the training, the traninee received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history and traditions. He is the son of Cheryl R. Brice of Brockport and Edward G. Brice of Florida. The private is a 2000 graduate of Brockport High School.


Marine Corps. Pvt. Jonathan M. Burch, son of Yvonne M. and Clifford M. Burch of Hamlin, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Burch successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally. Burch is a 2000 graduate of Umatilla High School.


Marine Corps Pfc. Daniel S. Maynard, a 1986 graduate of Byron-Bergen High School, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Maynard successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.


Marine Corps Pfc. Paul R. Schwartzmeyer, son of Donna M. and Richard M. Schwartzmeyer of Churchville, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Schwartzmeyer successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.


Joan Greeno, Associate Broker of Nothnagle Realtor's Ogden/Chili office, received the Lister of the Month award for the month of November, according to Rob Reimer, Branch Manager.

Greeno has been in Real Estate since 1984. She is an Associate Broker, Notary and has received her G.R.I. (Graduate Realtor Institute Designation). Lister of the Month is based on the highest number of new listings in the office for that month. She is a multi-million dollar producer and has received numerous awards and designations throughout her Real Estate career, including the prestigious "Pinnacle Award" awarded by the Rochester Women's Council of Realtors for outstanding commitment and service to customers and clients, Ogden/Chili's Top Ten and Nothnagle Realtor's Top 25 award.

She resides in Chili with her husband, Larry, vice president for Planned Giving at Roberts Wesleyan College. She has four grown children, and seven grandchildren. Besides her Real Estate career, Greeno enjoys interior design, sport flying and traveling.
