Arcadia topples Ranger girls volleyball

Greece Arcadia used their district height advantage and defeated the Rangers 15-1, 15-6 and 15-8 on December 16 in Spencerport.

Following the first game rout, the Rangers rebounded and were within two points in the second game at 5-3 with senior Becky Kellerson serving two points and closed to within 9-5 on junior Kristina Schweikert's kill, but couldn't get closer.

In game three, Spencerport hung around and were within 3 points at 7-4 on senior MaryEllen Uschold's kill followed by senior Melissa Scroger's ace, but that was as close as they would get.

Uschold led the team with 12 digs with Schweikert adding 11. Kellerson had 4 blocks and junior Kristen Bourne led the team with three kills. The team is next in action December 28 in the Churchville-Chili Tournament at 8 p.m.
