Rick Blodgett celebrated 15 years with the Town of Ogden Highway Department on December 22.

"Rick is an asset to the Highway operations and the community at large," said Superintendent Dave Widger. "He has worked his way up through the department and is well respected by his workers."

"Rick started as a part time laborer in 1984," Widger continued, "then was hired full time." He quickly became versed in maintenance and operation of construction equipment. He was promoted to foreman in August of 1994.

Blodgett assists with excavator equipment training, highway employee evaluations as well as scheduling and running the day-to-day jobs in the field. He has prior work experience in landscaping and construction. Blodgett is an avid outdoorsman; he is active in hunting, some fishing and really enjoys hiking while looking for deer sheds. He also enjoys snowmobiling.


Timothy Markle has completed requirements for his graduation from Cayuga Community College in Auburn. He earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in telecommunications-broadcasting.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Markle of Hamlin and a 1998 graduate of Hilton Central School.


Donald W. Henning Jr. was appointed mortgage loan originator for the Bank of Castile.

Henning has six years of mortgage and financial experience. He was also previously licensed as a Series 7 financial planner.

In his new position, Henning will assist persons interested in purchasing or building a home to receive the necessary financing. Currently the Bank of Castile offers FHA, VA, and conventional mortgages, as well as construction loans. There are also special programs such as the First Home Club, a program for low- to intermediate-income families, and nonconforming mortgages, which may help those with income and credit challenges qualify for a mortgage.

He will serve mortgage customers in Genesee, Monroe, Orleans and Wyoming counties.


Dennis Morgan has been named Top Salesperson of the Month for November at the Ogden/Chili Nothnagle office, according to Rob Reimer, manager. He attained a volume of more than $333,000.

Morgan has been a full time sales associate since 1995 and has been a Million Dollar Producer and a member of the Top 10 in the office for 2000. He concentrates on residential existing home sales and new construction. A Greece resident, he and his wife, Mary, have two daughters.


Air Force Airman Ronnie L. Williams has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs, and received special training in human relations. He is the son of Santa Borrero of Brockport and Steve J. Williams of Waterport. Williams is a 1998 graduate of Brockport High School.


Air Force Airman Joseph E.K. Fairchild has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs, and received special training in human relations. Fairchild is the nephew of Melissa Padoleski of Hilton and is a 2000 graduate of Hilton High School.
