Seniors Dave Branca and Eric Allardice each registered pins in fewer than two minutes to lead the Hilton Cadets wrestling team to a 36-21 victory over Medina December 21 at home.

In the 112 lb. weight class, Branca pinned his man in 1:28, but Allardice bettered that in his 135 lb. match with a pin in 1:09. Senior Nick Romeo won his match at 140 lb. 15-2; and, at 171 lb., junior Mark Montanarello won 12-2. Other match winners were eighth grader Joe Ranzanbach with two back points in the final period to win 3-2, junior Chris Mason at 119 lb. with a takedown with just 5 seconds left for a 3-2 win and sophomore Tim Bartl at 130 lb. 6-4. "I thought Ranzanbach's and Bartl's matches could have gone either way, but both came out ahead with late rallies," said Head Coach Chuck Partridge afterward.

The Cadets improve to 7-1 and will be especially active in the next two weeks with six days of wrestling starting with Greece Arcadia at home January 3 at 7 p.m. and including the Hilton dual meet January 6.
