Student-athletes at SUNY Brockport have donated $866.88 to five needy families in the Brockport area through the college's Holiday Helping Hand drive.

The sixteenth annual event, organized through SUNY Brockport's College Office Support Advisory Committee (COSAC), is held every year to support local families who need assistance during the holiday season. More than $20,000 has been raised over the 16 years of the drive.

This year, COSAC identified 10 families within the Brockport community to help. The donations from the student-athletes benefited these families, which included 24 children. Brockport has 24 different varsity sports and nearly 500 athletes.

"We are very proud of our student-athletes for all they did to help these families," said Linda J. Case, Brockport's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "This is becoming an annual tradition for our students."
