County holds farmland preservation meeting

The Monroe County Department of Planning and Development and the U.S.D.A.-Natural Resources Conservation Service will hold a meeting on Tuesday, January 23, at Cornell Cooperative Extension to teach how purchase of the development rights and conservation easement programs are used to preserve farmland in the county.

"I encourage all farmers, land owners, town officials and individuals interested in the preservation of our farmland to attend this meeting," said Monroe County Executive Jack Doyle.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of the Cornell Cooperative Extension, 249 Highland Avenue.
