Dr. Robert Judd, a 1980 graduate of Spencerport High School, has had a paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Judd's paper "The Use of Contrast Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging to Identity Reversible Myocardial Function" appeared in the November 16 issue.

Dr. Judd is an Assistant Professor at the Feinberg Cardiovascular Research Institute at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.

He is the son of Burt and Pat Judd of Spencerport.


Kelly Bliemeister, an 11th grader and principal double bass player at Brockport High School, was named as an alternate for the NYSSMA Conference All State Orchestra (November 27-30). Ever since junior high school, she has performed in several Area All County and Area All State Orchestras.

In addition, Bliemeister has played the bass in Albion's musicals "Annie, Get Your Gun" and "Meet Me in St. Louis." This spring she'll perform in the show "Oklahoma." She's also played in college productions of "Snoopy" and "Little Shop of Horrors." Bliemeister is a member of the Brockport Symphony Orchestra and the Genesee Symphony Orchestra. She also plays the electric bass in Jazz Band at Brockport High School. She joined the Brockport Community Chorus a few months ago where she not only sings, but has also accompanied the chorus on the double bass. Recently accepted into the National Honor Society, Bliemeister plans on majoring in music, but is still considering which college to attend in 2002.


Army Pvt. Justin C. McMillan has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

During the training, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history and traditions.

He is the son of Brenda and Robert McMillan of Brown Schoolhouse Road, Holley, and a 1998 graduate of Holley High School.


Pfc. Chad Arva, son of Dori Arva of Hamlin and Ron Arva of Brockport, spent the holidays with his family and friends. Chad, a 1999 graduate of Kendall High School enlisted in the Marines after graduation. He finished basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina and will return to NBC Defense Specialist School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earle Foster of Bergen.
