AREA

Garlarneau, Gwynne C., January 15, 2001 at the Orleans County Nursing Home. Mrs. Garlarneau was a retiree from Orleans County Department of Social Services in 1976. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holley but had been attending church at the Albion Baptist Church of West Park. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Albion #800, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sheret Post American Legion and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mrs. Garlarneau was the daughter of the late Ensel (Cora Gwynne) Clark. Her husband, Louis Garlarneau, predeceased her. She is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services were private at her request with interment at Mount Albion Cemetery. Those wishing may make Memorial Remembrances to PAWS or a charity of your choice.


Heise, Robert Floyd "Bud," Greensboro, North Carolina died January 13, 2001 at the age of 80 years.

A celebration of his life was held January 15, at First Lutheran Church, Greensboro, North Carolina.

Robert "Bud" Heise, author of the children's book "Twas The Night Before Jesus," was born in Brockport, on February 15, 1920 to John and Ella Heise. He had three brothers who all predeceased him: John, Donald and Bernard Heise.

In 1940, Bud began working for IBM, in Rochester, where he played basketball for the IBM team which won the National Industrial Basketball Championship. In 1942, he entered the United States Air Corps and was stationed at ORD, Greensboro, North Carolina where he also met his future wife, Dorothy McPherson. Bud and Dorothy (Dot) were wed in June 1944.

Bud was transferred to Germany with the Combat Engineers, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He and Dot then returned to Greensboro and bought the family business, McPherson Grocery. Bud and Dot expanded the business into the "Heise Shopping Center" in the Bessemer area of Greensboro. In 1958, Bud began work with Central Carolina Wholesale Grocers to design and manage the IBM systems. Ten years later, Bud and Dot opened Heise's (men's clothing store) originating in their Bessemer shopping center, then relocating to Friendly Center until their retirement in 1979. During Bud's professional retailing career, he served as a member of the Greensboro Merchants Association and as President of Friendly Center. Merchants Association.

Mr. Heise was also a member of First Lutheran Church where during his 50 plus years of membership, he served on the church council and was a youth advisor. He also was a member of the Greensboro Elks.

Bud and Dot celebrated 56 years of marriage in June 2000 with their son and daughter and their families.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy McPherson Heise; son and daughter-in-law Robert "Bob" and Carol Heise; daughter and son-in-law Donna Heise Byrd and Steve Byrd. Also surviving are his five granddaughters, Carrie, Lindsey and Martha Heise, and Laura and Kelly Byrd.

Interment at Westminster Gardens, Greensboro, North Carolina.

BERGEN

Daley, John J. "Jack," Saturday, January 13, 2001, of Bergen, formerly of Chili. Predeceased by his first wife, Carol (Cronin) Daley. Survived by his wife, Joyce (Kohlmeier) Daley; daughters, Kathleen Birch, Maureen Hitchcock, and Teresa (Randy) Weaver; sons, Thomas (Kathryn) Daley and William (Stacy) Daley; grandchildren, Stephen and Eric Birch, Quinn, Emma and Nathaniel Daley; brother, Gerald (Elaine) Daley; many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said January 17 at St. Pius the Tenth Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the EISEP Program, (Elder Services, Catholic Family Center), 25 Franklin Street, Rochester 14604.


BROCKPORT

Freer, Richard M., January 9, 2001. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

CHURCHVILLE

•Battista, Livio "Lee," January 11, 2001. Survived by his sons, Remo (Roseanna) Battista, Patrick Battista; two grandchildren; sisters, Ida (David) Fallone, Gilda Scardetta; several nieces and nephews.

Brice, Margaret, December 29, 2000 at age 85, formerly of Churchville. Daughter of the late Margaret and George Brice; sister Mildred Lockhurst; and brothers Dallas and Jessie Brice. She is survived by her sister, Doris Donahue of Churchville; and brother, Donald Brice of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial services at the family plot at the Riga Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family.


CLARKSON

Joslyn, Warren D., January 16, 2001. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Eunice H. Joslyn; his brother, Glenn and sister-in-law, Barbara Mank. He is survived by his nephews, Fay (Natalie) Joslyn, Gary Mank; two grand-nieces; one grand-nephew; six great grand-nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Lucille Joslyn; a brother-in-law, Erich Mank; several cousins. He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company in the Engineering Division with 44 years of service and an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII.

A Memorial Service was held January 19 at Clarkson Community Center. Memorials can be made to the Memorial Fund of the Clarkson Community Church, P. O. Box 568, Clarkson 14430.


KENDALL

Buongiorne, Richard D. "Rick," Suddenly, January 10, 2001. Predeceased by his brother, Andrew. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; children, Richard Jr., Michael, Sheree (Tim) Moors, Jill (Jack) Motzer, Donnette (Frank) Herring and Vickie (Jonah) Herring; eight grandchildren; his parents, Arthur and Mary; brother, Donald (Sis); sisters, Christine Gilson, Debra Kinder and Cynthia Schultz. Rick was a member of the Kendall Fire Department and an employee of Delphi.

A Memorial Service was held January 13 at Con-cordian Lutheran Church, Kendall. Memorials can be made to P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter, Big Brothers, Crest-wood Children's Center or the Kendall Fire Department.


Fiorino, Mary R., January 10, 2001 at the age of 69 in New Jersey. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Angelo John; her son, Michael of California; her daugh-ter, Mary Ann of Rochester; and two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said on January 20 at St. Anthony's Church, Batavia. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
