Santa visits Wedgewood.

Spencerport Lions have a busy holiday season

The Spencerport Lions have completed one of the busiest holiday seasons this year, according to members. At Christmas on the Canal, club members provided hot drinks and other food items. At Breakfast With Santa, they provided a good breakfast, toys for the children, and a visit with Santa. Free pictures are being sent to the parents as a keepsake. The money derived from these two events has been donated to the Cartons for Christmas program.

A craft show was held at Terry Taylor School with vendors selling crafts and Christmas related items. A good turn out, and the support of the Spencerport Community was appreciated. The profits from this project were used to buy toys for needy families and gifts for the residents at Wedgewood Nursing Home.

On December 17, the Spencerport Lions Choir, under the direction of Lion Mel Youngjohn, offered seasonal songs for the residents who each received a gift from Santa. The Lions Club donated train sets to classes at Terry Taylor School. In addition to all this, dozens of candy canes were passed out to many area children (and some adults) at many of these events.

Members of the Lions Club thank area residents for their continuing support in these events and their generosity in helping the club succeed in all of their holiday ventures.
