Though tied 45-45 with just five minutes left in the game, Greece Arcadia scored 12 of the last 16 points on their way to a 57-49 win over Spencerport February 2.

The two teams were tied at half time, thanks to a half-court buzzer-beater by junior Dave DiGuardi, and remained tied at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter started well with senior co-captain Rob Waller making a three-point shot and then another three-point play after being fouled on a lay-up giving the Rangers the lead. Then Arcadia took over the game.

Senior Ricky Albano led the team with 15 points. Junior Mike Dermody scored 11 of his 14 points in the first half and DiGuardi finished with 9 points.

Before the opening tip, the team presented the local chapter of the American Cancer Society a check for $7,500 for their Coaches vs. Cancer program. Head Coach Mike Blackwell said, "A select number of high schools across the country participate in this program. Last year, we raised the largest amount and this year, we raised another $1,500 so I would think we'll be number one again." The team sponsored a pancake breakfast which raised $1,000 and the holiday tournament point pledge program along with parents running the 50-50, concessions and T-shirt sales helped raise the rest. $1,800 will be returned to the school via a college scholarship to one of the team's seniors, which will be presented at the team banquet after the season.
