Brockport's Agrilink expands

Agrilink Foods, the processing and marketing agricultural cooperative located on Brockport's east side, is expanding their storage and packaging facilities. The company confirmed this week that they plan to occupy increased freezer space, as much as 90,000 square feet, as soon as it is available. The new warehouse is to be built by Allied Builders, Inc., also of Brockport. Construction is set to begin in March.

Agrilink is a subsidiary of Pro-Fac Cooperative, Inc. based in Rochester which has 600 members nationwide. It is the nation's largest processor of frozen vegetables with annual sales of over $1 billion. Agrilink members produce and process about 150 million pounds of corn, peas, green beans, carrots, broccoli and other foods annually.

Many of Agrilink's products are custom packed under the name of other distributors and supermarket chains. Agrilink's own brand named products include Comstock, known for canned fruit and pie fillings, Veg-All, canned mixed vegetables, and other products.
