Hilton High School Alumni Hall of Fame
calls for nominations

Hilton High School Alumni Hall of Fame has issued its call for nominations for the 2001 induction to be held this June. Nominations are due March 30. Nominees must have graduated 15 years ago: class of 1986 or before. The first Hilton High School Alumni Hall of Fame was established in 1999 and eight alumni were selected from a field of 25 nominees.

A selection committee composed of seven Hilton High School alumni, two staff members (one retired) and an alternate followed a selection process which included an independent, blind ranking based on seven categories: educational achievements; job-related achievements; professional honors and awards; community or civic involvements; personal accomplishments/achievements; and other appropriate qualifications which merit consideration.

These eight alumni were inducted 1999: environmental scientist Daniel D. Chiras, Ph.D. '68 from Evergreen, CO; family physician Dr. Lucille Collins, M.D. '57 from Selma, AL; educator David E. Day, Ed.D. '48 from Buffalo; chemist Albert E. Hauck, Ph.D. '70 from Spencerport; author Shirley Cox Husted '49 from Parma; scientist Tony Lanzalaco, Ph.D. '76 from Fairfield, OH; geophysicist Chris Marone, Ph.D. '77 from Boston, MA; and family nurse practitioner Kathleen M. Wolf '66 from Steamboat Springs, CO.
