Traffic Safety Award presented to Chili resident

Supervisor Steve Hendershott has announced that Chili resident Fred Trott has won a Community Service Award for 2001. This award was presented on Tuesday, March 6 by the Monroe County Traffic Safety Board at its award ceremony at the Party House.

The Community Service Award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated, beyond the normal course of their responsibilities, a dedication to the area of traffic safety for a significant amount of time, are advocates for traffic safety, or are dedicated to promoting traffic safety awareness.

"Fred has been involved in virtually every matter regarding traffic safety in Chili during his time on the committee," said Hendershott. When Chili residents voice a concern about traffic or parking issues, in most cases they are referred to the Traffic and Safety Committee for review and recommendation. Trott has been a member of the Chili Traffic and Safety Committee since 1993. In 1999, he was appointed chairman of the committee.
