Lady Saints Soccer conduct camp

An exciting aspect of the Churchville-Chili Girls Soccer Program is the interaction between the camp staff and the participants. The young girls are very enthusiastic and receptive to the instruction and coaching from the high school players. It is a learning experience for all those involved, according to girls soccer coach Nancy Thornton.

The Churchville-Chili Girls Soccer Program is currently conducting a soccer camp for girls in grades K-3. The camp, in its first year, has an enrollment of 47 girls. Varsity Coach Nancy Thornton is the camp's director. She is assisted by fifteen Junior Varsity and Varsity Lady Saints Soccer players. The high school players provide leadership and act as role models for the camp participants.

A typical camp session consists of warm-up games, small group instruction, and small-sided scrimmage games. Basic skills are taught through a fun, learning experience. All drills and games are developmentally appropriate for the children.
