Bright Raven gymnasts take second in Jamestown

Bright Raven gymnasts take second in Jamestown

Bright Raven Gymnastics' Level 4 Team took second place at the Lucky Star Invitational held at Jamestown Community College March 18. Eighty-one gymnasts represented eight different teams from upstate New York. Bright Raven was second with a team score of 174. The Orchard Park Gymsters took first place with 177.25.

In the 9-11 age division, Maura Wojak of Chili captured first place in floor exercise (9.50), sixth place in vaulting and third all around (35.00). Gina Mattioli of Greece was sixth all around (34.25). Alyssa Kober of Ogden took third place in floor exercise (9.325) and ninth all around (33.825). Emily Gutknecht of Rochester placed sixth in floor exercise (9.25). Sherilyn DiRoma of Hilton took third place on balance beam (9.10). Kara Golis of Chili took fifth place in balance beam competition (9.05). Other 9-11 year old gymnasts that contributed to this team effort were: Danielle Peruzzini of Brockport, Nicole Morone of Churchville, Sara Berry of Greece and Amanda Arcieri of Chili.

In the 12 and over age division, Allison Grove of Chili won first place on balance beam (8.65), third place on the uneven bars, fifth place in floor exercise and third all around (32.80). Cassie Dean of Churchville took second place in floor exercise (9.00), fourth on beam (8.50) and placed fifth all around (31.125). Kyle Holly of Chili was fourth in vaulting and Bethany Ayers of Chili took sixth place in vaulting and bars.

In the competition of gymnasts ages 6 to 8, Rachel Eckert of Irondequoit placed fourth all around (32.75) and was third in floor exercise, fifth in vaulting and sixth on bars and beam. Katie Kisker of Chili took fifth place all around (32.55) and was third on the uneven bars and fifth in floor exercise.
