A new American Legion Post has been chartered in the Town of Greece, according to Richard O'Keefe, State Legion Commander, Department of New York, Albany, NY.

A temporary charter for the Greece Memorial Post #206 has been issued by the National Headquarters of the American Legion in Indianapolis and was presented April 2 at the monthly meeting of the Monroe County American Legion, according to Commander O'Keefe. "The new Post has 16 charter members, but is leaving its charter roll open until June 1, 2001," he added. "All members who join before the deadline date will go on the permanent charter roll," he said.

Commander of the new Post is James Sexton, a veteran of Vietnam. The Adjutant of the Post is Don Stoffel, a veteran of World War II. The Post will meet the third Thursday each month at 7 p.m., at Metro Appraisal Associates, 4231 West Ridge Road, Rochester.
