Brockport to offer elementary summer school program

Based on the success of the last year's elementary summer school program, the Brockport Board of Education has included the program in the proposed 2001-2002 school budget, which residents will be asked to consider at the May 15 vote. The proposed summer program will provide five weeks of morning sessions for students currently in kindergarten through grade six receiving Academic Intervention Services (AIS). For K-2, these services are in English/language arts and math. For grades 3-6, the services provide additional support in English/language arts, math, science and social studies. Middle school and high school students are eligible to attend the regional summer school coordinated by Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES.

The Brockport Elementary Summer School Program will be held at Fred W. Hill School, 40 Allen Street, Brockport, and will begin Monday, July 9 and end Friday, August 10. Parents of students currently receiving AIS will be contacted by the school district to register their children for participation.
