Hilton Gazebo Band performs at historical museum event

A salute to spring by the Hilton Gazebo Band will be heard from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at the Parma Museum, 460 Parma Center Road. Those who attend can bring a lawn chair for seating. Along with free museum tours from 1 to 2 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m., other events of the day will include sales of autographed books by town historian Shirley Cox Husted, including her new histories of Greece, New York and Rochester.

Husted's books will also be available on Monday, May 21 when she addresses the Parma Hilton Historical Society at their annual banquet. Her speech, recalling humorous happenings during her 50 year career chronicling local history, will include recollections of many historical events that occurred during her lifetime.

On August 11, the museum will present tributes to Elvis Presley. Over the years there have been over 35,000 Elvis impersonators, several of whom live in Monroe County. Hilton's own Elvis2 will be featured, along with a Brighton resident's presentation: "Levi's Tribute to the King." A holiday program of music will conclude the museum's year-long emphasis on popular music.
