Partnership
helps lend a hand

It's a story of two caring people helping those in the extended community who are in great need.

Rick Furnal of Hilton Big M and Tony DiGiovanni have linked together, 365 days a year, to pick up and deliver bread, cake, donuts, produce and other items to needy people in Rochester.

Rick Furnal of Hilton Big M has allowed Tony DiGiovanni of Hilton to gather all of Big M's expired bread and produce to take to soup kitchens, hospitality houses, gatherings after services and similar providers of help. This is definitely an example of how two Hilton people have reached out to those who are in great need, said Tom Ganley of Hilton.

Sister Barbara Kuhn, director, and Pat Lorenzen, co-director, work at the St. Peter's soup kitchen to provide lunch meals Monday through Friday. They are appreciative of the food donations. Last year they served 42,420 meals to the hungry of Rochester. If the first stop at St. Peter and Paul's Church doesn't "use up" all of the donated food, there are two, three, four other sites which gladly take the food for hungry and thankful people. All that is donated is used.
