Monroe Community College will hold its 38th annual commencement at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 31 at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.

The keynote speaker is Essie Calhoun, director, community relations and contributions, and vice president, Eastman Kodak Company. Monroe County Executive John D. Doyle will welcome the graduates.

Also on May 31, the college will honor students graduating in the top one percent of their class at its 26th Annual Academic Achievement Convocation. Graduates who have earned a 3.9 grade point average or higher will receive certificates of achievement. From among those, less than two dozen are expected to receive the MCC Academic Achievement Medallion, signifying their academic ranking in the top 1 percent of their class.

Academic Achievement Convocation is set for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 31, in the Theatre on MCC's Brighton Campus.
