Ginther Elementary School students board a new bus

Kindergarteners and first-graders at the Brockport Ginther School boarded their "school bus" serving line on April 25. The new serving line, actually constructed to look like a school bus, is yellow with Brockport written in black lettering across the top, and is complete with flashing lights and wheels.

The school celebrated the new line with a ribbon cutting ceremony, balloons and streamers. Students entered the serving area to the song "The Wheels on the Bus." The new food serving line was included in the renovations to the cafeteria, which began last summer. The renovations were part of the $19.1 million district-wide capital improvement project, which started in the spring of 1999.

"It was well worth the wait," said Maureen Watt, Director of Food Service. "The students are very happy with their new bus." Food service staff chose the school bus design because they felt it would be fun for the students.
