Blue Devils hang on for win

The Brockport Blue Devils scored all four of their runs in the fourth inning and hung on for a 4-3 victory over Rush-Henrietta May 9.

Trailing 2-0 in the fourth inning, Brockport's Dan Carr lined a hit-and-run single to drive in Andy Parrino with the first run. That was followed by Brian Freeman's RBI double, John Pelin's successful suicide squeeze and Colby Jones' RBI triple to complete the scoring.

Rush-Henrietta scored a two-out run in the fifth inning on an infield error to make the game close, but Phil St. Amant came on in relief of starter Andy Parrino and shut down the Royal Comets for the final two innings to pick up the save. Parrino pitched 5 innings allowing only two hits while walking three in registering the win. St. Amant struck out four of the seven batters he faced.
