Children's fishing derby June 2

The Monroe County Conservation Council's Annual KIDS Trout Fishing Derby is Saturday, June 2 at Powder Mill Park. Derby fishing is scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m.

The derby is open to boys and girls 15 years of age and under. Participants must bring their own bait and tackle. No adults will be allowed to fish or provide direct assistance. Trophies and prizes to be awarded at 10:15 a.m. An individual may win in one category only. Registration is not required. According to NYS law, trout must be nine (9) inches minimum length and a maximum limit of three fish per person is permitted in Irondequoit Creek.

Trophies are to be awarded for: Grand prize for longest trout, first girl and boy to catch limit of three (3) trout, and the girl and boy who catch the longest trout (not grand prize).
