Legion to hold flag disposal ceremony

The annual Flag Disposal ceremony, the traditional ritual involving the ceremonial burning of frayed and unserviceable flags, is scheduled by the Monroe County American Legion Auxiliary on Sunday, June 10 at 2 p.m. It will be held at the Harvey C. Noone Post, 6444 Buffalo Road, Churchville. The Flag ceremony will be conducted by Post Commander and members of the Post.

Guests will be County Commander Len Panazek, County President Sharon Beeke, and County Chaplain Sharon Arthur. The National Color Guard Champions, Chili Lady Liberties, will present the colors. Also on hand to perform will be musicians from Churchville-Chili High School. Guest speaker will be Churchville Mayor Don Ehrmentraut.

Flags to be disposed of can be left at any Legion Post or Legion Headquarters at 933 University Avenue, Rochester. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony.
