road-eo for the second year

Churchville-Chili bus driver Gene Ehrmentraut placed first in the Conventional Style School Bus category at the 23rd Annual Rochester Area School Bus Safety Competition, also known as a Bus Road-eo. Ehrmentraut's top placement means he advances to the New York State Competition in Albany, July 14. Another C-C bus driver, Gene Clendenning, placed sixth in the competition.

The school bus safety competition recognizes excellence in bus driving, allowing drivers to demonstrate the skills required in their jobs. All contestants take a written exam and conduct a safety check of a school bus. Contestants then take a driving test designed to evaluate the drivers' skills in difficult situations.

In addition to the conventional bus category, drivers also competed in the Transit Style School Bus category and the Van Style School Bus category.
