The administration of Wedgewood Nursing Home wishes to thank the following individuals and organizations for their contributions to the home's celebration of National Nursing Home Week May 13 - 19.

On May 14, 2001 students from Spencerport High School Participation in Government program, with assistance from residents of the home, planted annuals and perennials around the grounds. Shawna Ball, Tom Boughner, and Kimberly Dill of Spencerport High School created the "Behind Every Flower There's a Smile Program." This program has helped brighten the lives of residents and grounds of the home as well. This program was made possible with donations from Bob's Pool & Garden Center, Cobble Creek Farm, Nagle Garden Center and The Garden Factory.

Musical events include a chorus program with Pam Persia and her students from St. John's School Chorus and a performance by the Walker Bible Baptist Church Choir.

The home also celebrated with other festivities including breakfast each day for staff and a cookout lunch buffet for residents, families, and staff. The week's events concluded with a special breakfast for residents with the administration and department managers of the home.

National Nursing Home Week is a time that residents, families, and caregivers recognize the contributions that Nursing Homes provide to their communities, according to Wedgewood Administrator Robert M. Rubens.
