Summer Serenades returns on Thursdays

In its ninth year, Summer Serenades is again returning to Sagawa Park, Main Street, Brockport on Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. starting June 21. The series is free and open to the public.

The debut performance on June 21 starts with the Brockport Summer Chorus and is followed by a dance/music troop from Mexico City in dazzling costumes. "El Groupo Luzy Fuerza" will perform a sneak preview of the June 24 Bienvenida celebration.

June 28 brings the much anticipated return of the Caribbean sounds of Pan Gala Steel Band. The series continues with E'co (July 5), a feast of Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and European culture: the Celtic folks sounds of The Dady Brothers (July 19); with jazz, pop, rock and more from the Brockport Summer Jazz Ensemble (July 26); the nationally-acclaimed Cajun-Zydeco flavor of Chanka Chank (August 2); the return of the contagious R & B sounds of The Coupe de Villes (August 9) and concludes with The Rochester Philharmonic Marimba Band (August 16).
